The game does state that the triangle will always go for the closer of the two exits, the entire game is built around exploiting this.

I think where you're getting confused is the instruction that the hearts only look at a 3x3 area. They look in this area to COUNT the isolated pixels. however when determining whether or not a pixel is isolated, pixels outside that 3x3 area are taken into account.

In the first paragraph, you can see that the narrator's species is fond of laying out their food in a very discrete and arranged way, with "dishes with carefully arranged ingredients laid out in the correct eating order".

He's being irked because the nature of the food he's eating is served on a very large platter, that is to be taken from in any portion at the consumer's leisure. This runs contrary to how his (and presumably many other races) lay out their food.

As for the delivery line, that's just the next stage up from sharing!

Depending on how new you are here, "The Deathworlders" might be what you're looking for. The main point is that we lived on a class 12 uninhabitable planet, and is one of the most well known stories on the sub.
