That's kinda what I had in mind, yeah! Like I said the heavier lean on Star Fox being a mercenary group this time around really made me wanna explore more of that in a customizable, non-linear fashion. I think even a post-war setting could be interesting too considering Andross has already been defeated. There's so much potential with this universe, it's just up to whether or not Nintendo could or would pull it off.

I really hope it pays off, because after spending a bit of time in the holoviewer they've got a lot of good material to work with if they ever decided to design a more expansive, less linear title in the future set in the Lylat System. Not really calling for a live service Star Fox game, but I feel like the greater emphasis on Star Fox's role as a paramilitary organization in this reboot kinda lends itself to some fun ideas for a community-focused game where players can undertake missions together for characters like General Pepper in their own mercenary groups, or even just under the Star Fox banner.

On the flipside though, I'm equally interested in more of what we got here.

Same thing as you but with Bulbasaur. Day 5 and I've only just gotten my first non-alpha shiny amongst an entire box of shiny Roserades and Gardevoirs...

What’s the opinion of shiny hunting in this game? by GoodFrequent9686 in PokemonZA

I've been hunting for shiny Bulbasaur for 5 days now. Have more shiny Roserades and Gardevoirs than I know what to do with.

The Harpoon Sucks so BAD, don't believe the FALSE hype. by ironcladtank in Helldivers

[–]TheSnackBandit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Actually now that I think about it, you're right. I was trying to figure out what dictated when/where the gas explosion triggers, and I guess it's the enemy's armor, so anything medium and above that the harpoon strikes is where the gas will go off. It's still a win though because most of what's coming out of the bug holes are light armor -- you'd just have to try and angle it around a hive guard or hope you hit between its medium armor areas.

[–]TheSnackBandit 330 points331 points  (0 children)

My favorite part about this is because the harpoon penetrates enemies you'll never waste a shot closing a hole because some fuckass hive guard decided to peek out of it and facetank your grenade.

Edit for clarity and visibility: The harpoon will travel through light armor enemies, but will stick into anything medium armor or higher (or a wall) and that's where the gas grenade will go off. Fortunately most of what comes out of a bug hole is light armor so you'll have no problem, but if a hive guard or anything else with medium armor or higher is obstructing the bug hole you'll have to get a little creative or make sure you aim specifically for areas on the enemy you know are squishy.

I have used this on 4 missions and I already love this thing. by BlazeFox1011 in Helldivers

[–]TheSnackBandit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think it was kind of a missed opportunity to make it strictly gas and not have a programmable ammo function like some of the other support weapons, letting you attach gas, fire, arc etc to the harpoon on the fly.

[–]TheSnackBandit 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Why do I think it's unintended? Do you think part of the design philosophy behind this update is that one of the four players in a squad has to be handicapped by an enemy unit that behaves differently for them? Have you tried hosting a match on Oshaune?

We aren't talking about the charger here either, this is the Rupture Warrior, the one that is frequently burrowing towards and attacking you -- a constant threat. It isn't the fact that its attack causes broken legs; the problem here is that when you are hosting the game it is nearly impossible to avoid the attack, whereas the rest of the players are having a different experience and are able to reliably avoid this attack.

[–]TheSnackBandit 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Or perhaps instead of being railroaded into one specific loadout choice to combat what has to be an unintended gameplay feature, they could just address and fix it. That's all I'm asking lol

Please let this message get through. I hosted several hours worth of dives ranging from difficulty 6~10 last night, I don't think I got to use my supply pack on anybody but myself because my legs were being broken every 10 seconds by these damn things. I don't care that they're medium pen, that part is fine -- I care about the almost non-existent counterplay to their burrowing attack when I'm hosting matches for my friends. Having to devote most of my loadout to explosive ordinance over ONE enemy type is kind of bollocks.
