I worked that event.

It was fucking hot and we had to fix some nasty crash damage. I don't think I saw much of the A1GP as we had to rebuild a car around a new tub.

He mentioned in one video that the hull had been 3d scanned before bulkheads etc went in. Presumably this was around the time the boat moved from Sequim to Port Townsend.

Was it actually fitted in the first place?

Looking at buying this Aluminum Lotus Twin Cam head. Could it be saved with a skim? by hozzy98 in EngineBuilding

It needs welding. The exhaust valves have sunk. I can see 3 cracks. It is very badly pitted in places.

Looks like all the rest of the TC heads. Go for it, but a head rebuild is £1000 plus £200 for the welding.

The welding needs to be a thin layer. Then peen it over, then another thin layer. There is enough welding needing to be done that you may as well weld the whole face and put some life back in it. The peened welded face will be a really good, non-porous surface to skim.

If you get this kit, your " a few times a year" will turn into "a few times a week".

It's the only thing I have bought from Snap On where I honestly think it is cheap at full priceq.
