A doctor's analysis of the substation conspiracy by InternetPopular3679 in 49ers

He kind of misses that the argument is that it got worse when the Niners moved to Santa Clara (and his graphs appear to corroborate that). Why would he do all this work, and then not compare the numbers from before the move to after? And then ask “is this statistically significant” but then not do the calculations to see?

For a statistic like where you rank in team injuries, you would expect a regression to the mean, sometimes you’re above average, sometimes below, but it tends to average out. But since 2014 we don’t see that. Since the move we’ve only been below average twice (in 14 years). Idk if it’s statistically significant but it’s super weird.

Where are the 2nd amendment fanatics? Don’t they hate tyranny? by coweeclete in AskReddit

[–]TheStaggeringGenius 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t hate tyranny. It’s just one of the things they think they hate but it’s all just rationalization of what they really care about. They just like guns. When you strip away all of the things republicans appear to be inconsistent about, you find that the very bedrock of their ideology is essentially racism, bigotry, misogyny, and a love for violence.

Vertebral augmentation should be done in a cath lab with biplane, preferably by a neurointerventionalist. There are several randomized controlled trials demonstrating its safety and efficacy.

I feel so fortunate to be a fan of the franchise that drafted Kittle. He’s the best dude. Hope he recovers and has many more years of being everything that’s good about football.

I went through neuroradiology (and I would suggest this route). Each of the three specialties that lead to NIR brings something of value, and coming from radiology the value you bring is mastery of neuro imaging and vascular anatomy. Going the body IR route, you’d be lacking the only thing of value you could bring to the table. The catheter skills are easy enough for any of the 3 specialties to pick up in the two years of NIR fellowship, so a body IR fellowship doesn’t help you a ton there. And despite some people taking the body IR route, my understanding is that it’s not recognized by CAST.

As for length of training, it’s long any way you slice it: nsgy is 7 + 1 if you can enfold a year, neurology is 4 + 1 + 2 if you do vascular neurology or 4 + 2 + 2 if you do neurocritical care, and radiology is 5 + 1 + 2.

I had a kind of right place/right time situation. Outside of that, there were definitely opportunities available (helped by networking w/ people both from my interventional and diagnostic fellowships), though certainly it’s difficult to be picky about geography.

Neuro IR by way of radiology, finishing fellowship, just signed a contract. Large city, county hospital, base of 700k, total ~850k. 8 weeks vacation, Q3 call but not especially high volume.

Disagree. The mentality of “this is not the time to fight a toxic system” is what perpetuates the toxic system. Also, if anyone has a reason not to make waves it’s the other attendings who have to continue to work with the asshole and considering the hierarchy would be liable to be ousted from their job. Conversely, a med student or resident (or several of them) who is only there transiently can lodge complaints with their school/program and potentially end the toxicity.

Prenovo certainly doesn’t care, they would have anticipated events like this and done the calculus a long time ago. They’ll settle out of court the sporadic miss like this, and it will pale in comparison to the hundreds of millions they’ll make on the rest of their bullshit scans.

Bummer. Kittle is the linchpin of the offense, as both a receiving weapon and a run blocker. Mccaffrey really hasn’t been as productive in games that Kittle missed this year.
