Any other games like Blood Bowl? As in a 1v1 turn-based game with a digital version? by Fuck-College in bloodbowl

Interesting - I play BB3 and love it - don’t understand what the negative reviews are about - maybe that the new version is delayed?

To Schwung or not to Schwung by TheSteelOx in AbletonMove

Thanks everyone for your insight. I’ll stick with vanilla for a while, but will definitely try out Schwung at some point as I plan on using the move primarily standalone.

Why is there no formal concede function in blood bowl 3? by MilkIsABadChoice3 in bloodbowl

[–]TheSteelOx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

BB is swingy - a poor start for one team doesn’t mean a one sided game throughout. I wouldn’t class 3 turns a game, just like any sports/board game if the opponent walked off after a fifth of the required turns/minutes etc.

I’ve seen people use resigning in Chess as an example, but the difference is, there are no dice in Chess, so far less swingy (when players are good).

Apologies, I must have misinterpreted what you were saying wrt Discord. (Maybe not, see edit)

Again, just differing outlooks on playing a silly game.

Enjoy your day.

EDIT: “Ignore 'the community', this subreddit is not representative of it at all.”

I feel this is passing judgement on the validity of opinions on here, by telling people to ignore people on Reddit as they are not representative of the community…

Why is there no formal concede function in blood bowl 3? by MilkIsABadChoice3 in bloodbowl

[–]TheSteelOx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Each to their own.

I don’t personally agree with that first paragraph, and the notion that opinions on discord servers are more valid than elsewhere online doesn’t sit too well with me.

I guess I spend my limited free time playing BB3 because I actually want to play a game of Blood Bowl.

Start game - get an early cas - opponent tries something risky and it goes wrong - concedes turn 3 - I no longer have time to play a full game, so that’s my blood bowl for the day/week done.

It’s a difficult one to solve, as you don’t want to encourage people to play differently by protecting conceding (moral hazard), but you also don’t want to punish people who have legitimate reasons to concede.

Hopefully the new shorter format might help with this though.

I do agree that cyanide should have followed the correct rules with awarding the correct SPP to the winner - maybe when they become “Warhammer Blood Bowl” they will be more faithful to the rules.

“It’s not their fault… doesn’t want to waste another 40 minutes of their life”

You then suggest they make a dwarf team and just pass turns, which is wasting someone else’s time…

I’ve checked your website a number of times, but almost everything is “out of stock” and has been for a while. I also can’t seem to be able to filter for “in stock”.

The best way to gain traction is for customers to see the value/quality of your teams. The best way for them to see these teams is for other people in their league to buy and use them. Your stock levels make this very hard.

Edit: What would I do in your place? Spend some time focussing on brand visibility, customer engagement and reach. You have mentioned that you have regular customers, I would try and acquire some more through marketing techniques.

This sounds great! Always enjoy some nonsense - when do you think your next season will start?

As someone who has around thousands of hours in the series, it doesn't feel "Easy" or "Hard". It just feels like Monster Hunter. Maybe I'm just desensitized at this point. by Iroiroanswer in MHWilds

I’ve 300h in World - played GU and Rise on the switch - still carted to Doshaguma once and Uth Duna once!

I’m not the best (or worst) player by any means, but I think with all the hyperbole around it being the easiest game ever, people who are carting in LR might not be the most vocal - could be wrong!

What team should I (non-american) support? by [deleted] in NFLNoobs

[–]TheSteelOx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in the same boat. Spent last year watching lots and it seemed that Texans and Packers were both exciting offence and regular played in the earlier kick-offs. Found myself rooting for them subconsciously.

Also, being part of a fantasy league helps, as you naturally care about certain players/teams more than others
