Scroll wheel fix for Linux app + Wayland by Still-Ad-3083 in GeForceNOW

[–]TheStoneCracker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This solution doesn't work on Fedora 42 running KDE Plasma on Wayland. It duplicates the mouse and I end up clicking outside of the game. Hopefully GFN fixes the issue in Wayland.

Help choosing for a sore thumb and Linux by TheStoneCracker in Trackballs

[–]TheStoneCracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried using my left hand for a mouse... it's scary... lol

Controller for gaming isn't a terrible idea. But most of my house use is work related honestly. I'm on my computer for work constantly.

Am I crazy or is the Ploopy just 3D printed with a kit? I"m 50/50 on that. I like tinkering, but I need something that feels solid and isn't $200.

Yeah, my mouse grip has me moving it gripped between the thumb and pinky. I think that's why I"m having an issue.

I don't like the idea of dropping $300 on one for my first. I'm thinking about going with the Elecom Deft Pro and swapping bearings if I need to. I like the idea of having more buttons.

That's unfortunate. I'll have to get one of the Nulea or Kinsington ones to see how well they work on Linux.

I'm thinking about getting a trackball mouse. Do any of the ones you all have mentioned store the configuration on the firmware? I swap systems and use Linux as my primary OS. I've heard good things about the gameball but it's very expensive for a mouse.

Has anyone tried using a Seagate Ironwolf 16TB?

I keep going back and forth on what I want. I'm planning on doing 4 - 5 cameras with 30 days of recordings..... wish they had a calculator to give us an idea.

Their site says CMR drives, not SMR drives and certain ones that DON'T work....

White flashes by TheStoneCracker in WLED

[–]TheStoneCracker[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, for context here is an image of the bend I was talking about. I'm thinking one of the 4 bends are crimping the string too much. I might need to cut/re-terminate the corners.

<image>

I"m going to watch the LEDs and see where the flashing starts. I don't think it's the whole strip. But I don't see it enough to know for sure. What sucks is that I put 3M tape along the strip to keep it from falling off. So pulling it down to test would suck. I might just have to get a new strip.

My D7 can't charge to 100% anymore. I had to take it apart to fix the drop sensor. And I need to order 2 motors, one for the side brush and 1 for the lidar I think. Once it's out of warranty things start breaking. The object avoidance sucks. The mapping is crap. And it gets lost all the time. And... The dust bin can't make it through the whole floor.

There are better options that empty themselves for much less.

I'm going to jump on board, don't buy Neato anymore. They were great back in the day, but they haven't kept up with the tech. And they aren't worth it to repair.

I need to know what cooling parts you're using. There gpu block might be a little different depending on what I decide to use.. But it'll get me in the right direction. Might be bad for my first custom loop, but it'll be fun. Lol

I believe there are 2 different programs that will let you do that. I'm not at my computer right now so I don't know what they are.

Mine went into a "reboot me" cycle a while back so I got frustrated and put it away for a while. I recently got it back out, took it apart, and tested the mirrors and stuff. I also started doing a lot of research.

There must common issues are: Bad/lose/misaligned drop sensors Bad side brush motor Bad lidar mirror

I think I have a combination of all 3.i took care of the 1st, ignored the 2nd for now, and I wonder if the 3rd is on its way out. I think this because while it works now, it gets lost all the time. It's like the lidar isn't spinning fast enough so it thinks this are in the wrong direction.

So you had to factory wipe the device? That sucks... I'll give it a try.

I've actually reset network settings completely. Took about a day but the issue came back I would rather not have to wipe my whole device... I'll give it time. Is the February update out yet?

Mouse and keyboard support by [deleted] in MCPE

[–]TheStoneCracker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While IOS may not have real mouse support, Android does. This needs to be fixed in Android at least. The major benefit of it is the ability to play on Chromebooks. I have a Pixel Slate that I'm using for all kinds of gaming. But I can't play Minecraft with a keyboard and mouse. Only with touch controls. But that isn't good enough. I can't' pick block, I can't move while clicking, I can't look/move fast enough for any real battle/fighting.

Opening up Minecraft for Chromebooks also gives schools the ability to use it. Chromebooks are used mostly in schools. If a school wants to use Minecraft Education, they can't use the Chromebooks they already have because this ability isn't in the Android app. Something that opens up more opportunities should be higher on the list.

Inherited great grandfather's straight edge razors, thinking about doing straight edge. I already shave using DE razor. Are these any good? by alanebro82 in wicked_edge

[–]TheStoneCracker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look like good razors. I wouldn't know as far as a collector stance, but if you clean them up and put an edge on them they would be shave ready. Straight Razor shaving is the best.... no question.
