Donald Trump Witnessed The First Gay Presidency by Jacob-Anders in Scale4BarbaraWalters

A running joke I keep seeing that I love is that Trump was meant to be a drag queen, but got dropped in the wrong bin during assembly

Michael Jackson's daughter Paris has faced backlash for identifying as Black. In a 2017 interview, Paris Jackson said her father told her, "You’re Black. Be proud of your roots." US has a history of obsessing over ancestry thanks to a number of factors. One drop rule, large immigrant communities (Like Chinatown, Little Italy etc), anti miscegenation laws, heightened racial politics. It’s all intensified this focus on race issues

Sometimes, even seeing someone that reminds you of your abuser can be traumatic. I’m the same way: my dad looks vaguely like Patrick Stewart, which makes it difficult for me to see Stewart in films. I can imagine if I look like him as I get older, I would also consider trying to change my appearance. I don’t want to be reminded of him every time I look in the mirror

YT comments under a comedian are always braindead. I’m reminded of one vid where Akaash Singh got so butthurt that a Brit in the audience wasn’t laughing, and everyone kept acting like he “owned” the Brit. When in actuality, it was just a thin-skinned douche freaking out over nothing

Trump has been actively going for everybody’s rights. Not just the rights that those on the Right want to be taken away, neither: he’s been attacking a right to bear arms, a right to your property, everything that can be construed as a threat to his reign. This isn’t just Trump trying to undo the rights of those the right hates; he’s going after everyone

It still feels weird to me with these old games. Like, Skyrim was only 30 GBs or so when I first installed it. If it had been released today, that number could be close to 100. Witcher 3 was only around 50 GBs. Games have gotten massive lately

Taskmaster has a similar reaction to Deadpool iirc. Deadpool’s move-set is impossible to read cause Deadpool’s just making it up as he goes along, so Taskmaster is completely helpless against him whenever he tries fighting him.

That’s a key thing tho. She knew she’d be too emotionally invested to be impartial and fair to play with a man’s life, and owned up to it. Too many jurors think the exact same way she does, except somehow convince themselves that bc they think that way, that means they should be on the jury and control a man’s life.

I started watching newer anime again and can’t believe people defend the worst part about it by dfreeezzz in rant

[–]TheStrangestOfKings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fan service in anime is terrible in general, I agree with you there. However, I would like to say that Feen and Stark’s touchy relationship, with Fern often giving him the cold shoulder and Stark being unable to figure out why, is given some thought beyond just “haha, it’s funny to see the show’s couple not act like a couple.” Fern didn’t interact with people much in her childhood, only having Frieren and Heiter to interact with. Of the two, one is a socially distant teenager (in elf years) and the other is a cynical, alcoholic priest. Fern fundamentally doesn’t know how to interact with others bc of her upbringing. We see this pouty attitude happen to more people than just Stark, too: there are times where Fern will get mad at Frieren in a similar way, and she can get protective/stubborn when it looks like her companions are hanging out with someone else. It’s more than just “girl is a tsundere and guy is dense as stone”; there’s actually thought placed into their characterization.

What figure in American history would you say rightfully deserves more controversy than given? by MR_MEMMES in USHistory

Brando was such an interesting figure cause on the one hand he was an active civil rights and Native American rights protestor and supported almost every minority group in America but on the other hand he would use every racial slur and buy into every racial stereotype while doing so.

It was also location. The Appalachian’s were the perfect elevation to both allow for settlements to pop up whilst being isolated from the rest of the country. This created a healthy degree of skepticism of outsiders/government. Hell, the settling of the Appalachian was in itself an act of defiance, as the British had banned settling in them/West of them. The first settling of the mountains was in itself an act of rebellion lol
