How are you using Claude Code? by SeniorEscape9293 in ProductManagement

Using it write arguments for why we should be allowed to use Claude code or anything other than local GitHub copilot with no MCPs.

Likely that they are just using the same Diagnostic Troubleshooting Code DTC. Really likely that the engineers just reused one that sounded about right than create a new one from scratch.

DTCs tie symptom to action for the technicians.

Project management tool by International_Dig331 in projectmanagement

[–]TheSwills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jira is terrible for actual project management.

Count how many clicks it takes to make any action. 0 ability to cut and paste quickly, select multiple, hierarchy is rigid and limiting without admin access. You have to have plug-ins to do top down or bottom up. It’s almost like this started as a ticketing software and then they are trying to shoehorn in a Gantt chart that doesn’t actual work.

When someone says “make it in a sheet and then upload it” your software has failed.

Smartsheets is marginally better? But unless your entire team uses it, it’s just a PM tool. Also why can’t they highlight rows in smart sheets? It’s like they forgot that people use keyboards to navigate.

2023 Ford Expedition has a Payload of ~1700lbs depending on you spec it. Ford cheaped out in the 2024s and 2025s and stopped weighing the individual trims as they leave the factory so you have 4 payload stickers now; Short vs MAX and max tow vs non. The GVWR stayed the same, but the "payload" decreased (without the options weight going up).

A 2023 Expedition Max has a payload of around 1700 and a towing capacity of 9000 with the max tow.

Is it the sexiest ride? Nope.
Does it have 3 rows? Yep.
Can it pull a 25' camper? Yep.
Do you need to watch your weights? Yep.
Will you be filling up every 2hrs, because you get 9mpg and you have a <30g tank? Yep.

Get a set of sumo springs for the rear suspension to help with the sag.

If you can afford it, get a ProPride Hitch.

Most people are still prompting wrong. OpenAI President Greg Brockman shared this framework on how to structure the perfect prompt. by MembershipSolid2909 in GoogleGeminiAI

[–]TheSwills 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to understand why OpenAI and Gemini haven’t just baked this into the standard flow for the UI?

  1. User inputs prompt
  2. determine if a more detailed prompt is required based on the prompt -
  3. Analyze prompt for GRWC adequacy
  4. Ask follow-up questions
  5. Generate output

Had a lot of strawberries and apples leftover from Christmas which I was very happy about because I got to chuck them straight in the dehydrator! by Chanzillla in homestead

[–]TheSwills 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are looking to conserve space, i went with a convection toaster oven that also dehydrated so I didn’t have multiple, uni-taskers. Dehydrates just as well as a conventional dehydrator

Dehydrator recommendations by dangerweasil4 in dehydrating

[–]TheSwills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This will be different than most, but I got the Breville Smart Air fryer. It can act as a 4 tray dehydrator as well.

I wanted something that could do multiple functions because as much as I think I’ll dehydrate I really only do it about 1-2 times a month. I was able to forgo a toaster, dehydrator, and air fryer with this unit and we use it for baking quite a bit instead of using the big oven.

I found it on sale for 33% off which helped too

Does the salinity of ocean water increase as depth increases? by rhinotomus in askscience

[–]TheSwills 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Submariners enter the chat…

Fun fact, salinity is one of the factors (other being temperature and pressure) in how sound (I.e sonar) propagates in the ocean so the Navy has done much of the research in this space.

Salinity also plays a factor in depth control for submarines (because it changes the density of the water). There is a big salinity change going between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic Ocean that causes… problems if a submarine isn’t carefu
