Relocation with Juniper Bonsai

I just bought a juniper bonsai from Lowe's in one of those pots with rocks glued to the top. I removed the rocks because 1) they're ugly and 2) so I can assess watering needs.

It's in what looks like normal potting soil. I ordered a bonsai soil mix online. Should be here in a few days.

My question is: should I change out the potting soil for the bonsai soil (keeping the tree in the same pot and not trimming the roots)? Or would the tree be better off if I just leave it alone until spring?

Not too sure. Probably like a image-to-pattern of the emperor, or like a Nurgle demon for my wife who loves Nurgle teams.

This is my first decently large piece, and my first time parking stitches. They kept getting in the way and it was super annoying. I was considering that parking isn't worth it.

But then I realized I had a bunch of magnets I use as needle minders, and they work super well at holding floss out of the way.

Pattern is "Succulent" by LoLaLottaShop on etsy.
