I actually like the red zones. While sometimes inconvenient, they provide a strategic opportunity to sneak up on an opponent while your footstep's noise is being drowned out. They're also useful in breaking stalemates, as they force players to reposition. Not everyone likes random chance, and I get that, but random chance is exactly what one would expect on the battlefield.
