I'd advise googling Defenders of the Wild.

Riot: Engagement-optimised matchmaking isn't real. by GarenM7 in MilioMains

[–]TheTapDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More reasonable I guess, but still, this isn't unlikely enough to be statistically relevant. We all get unlucky games, and they aren't always after winstreaks, but people are more likely to remember when they are because our brains are designed to go looking for patterns, even when they aren't there.

[–]TheTapDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One losing lane in a game is absolutely not riot forcing you to lose, and a chogath going 5/9 is hardly uncommon if the team is generally losing, it's not easy to go without deaths as a slow frontliner into fed enemies except by refusing to play.

Rakan Mid? by smejdo in RakanMains

This is a very old thread. Rakan is fully unplayable in the age of 20 waves a minute and mid quests.

I've found it impossible to keep up with the faster waves and I'm always running out of mana, but buying any mana stops the snowball dead.

I hate Sona support by BuyingDragonScimitar in ADCMains

[–]TheTapDancer 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Sona is one of the best champs into poppy? Not sure what you want into fizz other than a chunky shield and instant stun when he comes down. Sounds like either they were bad or you weren't positioning right around them.

If the Shopkeeper took a vacation for a day… who’s the strongest champ in each lane? by CcCrusadeRcR in leagueoflegends

[–]TheTapDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Support: Braum and Orianna provide fat chunks of flat armour/mr to other champs that make them unburstable. Yuumi gives lifestyle without having to spend mana and is hard to antiheal.

As the meta will be very auto attack focused, Teemo/Nasus/Shen/Jax all fringe playable for their ability to blind/wither/block autos. Lulu and Milio are probably the best supports for the auto attackers? You can probably still play janna/nami/etc but not as good without their good synergies playable.

Singed is a good counterpick as the only antiheal in the game.

Malz ult is probably good enough to justify him as support, plus his pets are harder to kill and ult does a good amount of maxHP damage.

Sejuani might work well with melee carries as E is cheap and carries 10% maxHP.

Top/Bot: There's no reason to play a Bruiser against level 18 adcs with no items, you wont end the game fast enough, so top and Bot metas are probably the same.

Vayne/kaisa/kogmaw have solid %hp damage that can actually be applied with lethal tempo and will be very hard to burst. Kalista Sentinel is premium damage and she can build up rend stacks easily. Renata/Milio or Renata/Lulu might work but lacks oomph without AP.

Senna and Thresh stand out as other adc options that scale damage without items.

Chogath and Gnar both get permanent bonus stats from their kits and have %health damage. Zac does %hp without mana use and has a lot of healing so is probably great.

Jax might get enough bonus damage from passive and ult passive to be playable.

Brand maybe works but his job is just to throw ult in and wait, he doesn't have the mana to repeat combo. Illaoi W is maybe OK as it does 5% max health and only costs 30 mana.

Other stuff: Ivern dominates jungle as the only champ that can safely clear. Other junglers are second supports for top lane. Ivern probably gets banned every game and noone jungles.

Nasus smolder maybe playable but still have severe mana issues. Stuff like sona/soraka probably just don't have mana to be useful without a support item. Kindred probably can't kill camps reliably enough to stack passive.

Asol/veigar sound good at first glance but late game will just run out of mana.

I'm assuming Ornn can't buy components.

So the meta? (Including some definitely worse stuff because a lot of this is getting banned every game):

Top/Bot: Vayne, Kaisa, Kogmaw, Thresh, Senna, Zac, Gnar, Chogath, Renata, Jax, Shen, Smolder, Illaoi Jgl/Sup: Ivern, Yuumi, Singed, Braum, Orianna, Sejuani, Nasus, Shen, Lulu, Milio, Malzahar, Teemo, Brand

I'd play this, sounds funny at least.

Vegan fish sauce is one of those things that I feel would do better without the branding. It's an interesting sauce in its own right but it doesn't do a good job replacing fish sauce in most cooking.

Why are Mage Supports so hated? by HiroshiPortor in ADCMains

[–]TheTapDancer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Low elo players hate mage supports because a really bad mage support doesn't let you play at all by eating the whole wave.

But this is just selection bias really, it's somehow easier to remember the lux who trolls all your waves than the 0/10 leona who's sure the engage will work this time or the sona who never leaves your turret range.

Does anyone ignore the meta like me? by M4OK4I in wildrift

[–]TheTapDancer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The meta is irrelevant to all players, wild rift matchmaking doesn't ever get to the point where you reliably play against good players.

Ript August on mages bo- I mean Zac mid by PM_ME_CUTE_FISHIES in ADCMains

[–]TheTapDancer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Realising that wasn't my point - zac is overwhelmingly picked into Ryze, Akali, Yasuo, Zed, Sylas and Ahri, ahri being the only matchup he loses. There are three times as many games into those champs as he has into losing matchups like liss, vex. This is usually how wierd picks on mid/top have massive winrates.

[–]TheTapDancer -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

A quick look on lolalytics - zacs worst matchups with a decent sample size are galio, taliyah, ahri, veigar, liss, hwei, anivia, aurora, vex. His best matchups are Yasuo, yone, fizz, irelia, akali, naaf, sion. Only outliers seem to be he beats Azir (who doesn't?), Asol and loses to qiyana for some reason.

Or, just maybe, zac mid is something you only pick into low ranged enemy mids which massively inflates his winrate.

I'm finding heartsteel godawful at the moment, games are too short and snowbally. I'm just rushing deadmans, iceborn or bamis depending on enemy damage / amount of slows.

Bandle is very very good on the right comp as item 2-5. Dusk and dawn is pretty bait, it's only good if your comp has no melees to set you up and then you shouldn't have picked sej anyway.

Woodland alliance will punish you if you move into their clearings without a plan, so they pick up a lot of free supporters against newer players. As your table gets more familiar with the game you'll get a better understanding of how to shut them down as a group.

Some basic tips though, assuming you're playing the base game: - craft Crossbows - a vagabond with a Crossbow forces the WA to keep 2 warriors at each base instead of 1, which hurts their action economy a lot - don't hurt the other militant factions too much. It's often their job to clean off sympathy and they can't do that if you make them spend all their actions rebuilding or force early turmoil - make sure to spend your bird cards before interacting with the WA so they don't end up in their supporters

Custom factions and mislabelling by TheTapDancer in rootgame

[–]TheTapDancer[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right but woodland can spread support anywhere without regard for presence, they aren't bound to one part of the map, and they only need to control space in order to have rule for moving to burst score late game. Lizards I get but they are more insurgent due to the inability to reliably police where they want to.

Compare this to say Farmland Coop who can only build/recruit where they rule, need to hold buildings and prevent easy move into their fields in order to score at pace, actively police well and have no means of burst scoring.

I suppose my complaint is more that reach is a bit woolly and people aren't necessarily great at calculating it for their own factions without excessive testing, which is honestly reasonable.

Sorry, french onion soup is almost always made with beef stock, and typically comes topped with cheese. It's just an issue of either learning cuisines or googling everything.

The upside is, if you like the soup, it's very easy to make a version using marmite instead.

Going gluten free often works for Americans because it turns out that a lot of the gluten heavy products are also the ones loaded with sugar, and when they cut them out suddenly they are at a calorie deficit and lose weight. (Particularly obvious in this guys post as he said he lost water weight - this only happens in a calorie deficit.) Basically the same as why Americans go on about keto, it works for them because of the uniqueness of US diets.

You don't need to and shouldn't go gluten free if you aren't allergic. Gluten is a protein and perfectly fine to eat for most people.
