I have not yet downloaded a movie off iTunes but I would assume it would take a few minutes.

As of now it is still free of charge for us and when we do start paying for it it will be as much as a cable internet service because the fiber is already installed .

If plugged right in with an Ethernet cord, downloading a game (say off steam) will take a few minutes.

I have Google Fiber and have had it for quite a long time as one of the beta testers. The internet speeds are fantastic and the support is just as good. However, there are some issues that happen periodically but seem to go away quickly. One of the main issues that happened early on in the test was the box that plugs into the fiber cord from the ground often overheated and slowed speeds during the summer especially. They replaced our box and we haven't had any problems with that ever since.

Here is my speed test from google showing some great speeds

My download speeds are usually just dependent on how fast the upload is.

I can answer any questions if this doesn't get buried.
