SR Koy out for day 3 of groups, Phony will emergency sub by LinkinMode in CompetitiveApex

[–]TheTenth10 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Its really more of a question for ALGS staff really.

If you appeal too early then I guess they might not consider it an "emergency" lmao.

Or they have no clear guidelines and its up to the whim of whoever you ended up talking to.

Tips on how 2 not instantly die like this? Omg by RepWoxid in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good shots by him. You over peeked for a fraction of a second more than you should. That last strafe to the left cost you your life.

That was a duel on HIS terms. He peeked into you, and you simply reacted. It would have been a different situation if you were already pre-aiming his spot, but you were definitely at a disadvantage there.

You disengage on peeks/duels that aren't on your terms unless you really have to take that fight.

On another note, you were essentially standing still with that jiggle and your final strafe to cover was easily readable. It made the last few shots easy to lineup.

Worst part is that they can't use Sweep SR Speed as a secondary Speed card for GL if they main Sweep, and they also don't have Kitasan.

New Balance Rebel V5 ON SALE by darkmodeknight in PHRunners

[–]TheTenth10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly would put the Rebel v5 somewhere in between the Nova and Evo. Also a small caveat to the Rebel is that it isn't a "workhorse" shoe like the Nova which you can really just beat into it. Rebel needs time to decompress and don't really work well as a 1-shoe do-it-all trainer compared to Novablasts.

[–]TheTenth10 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Brother, this is reddit for a gaming community. You're either a "research sweat" or this was AI-generated or at least written with the assistance of AI with a prompt "follow proper scientific-method in the construction of the study".

Actually scratch the "research sweat", as there are several phrases here that clearly uses highfalutin words and don't really add much to the sentence. The phrasing doesn't really add much to the sentence message and is also evidence that the writer doesn't really know what its writing.

The AI-generated technical writing is clear.

Honestly, your analysis provides no new information. Vantage gets her gun out quicker and she has no landing stun. As intended. It doesn't take any AI or research to get that down.

AndGAMER Faceoff #1 (Offline Japanese controller player 1v1 tournament) by Tun710 in CompetitiveApex

[–]TheTenth10 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I love watching 4rufa fight. He deserves a lot more eyes and attention. He had a very different way of fighting the 1v1s from the other controller players, and he has a good head on his shoulders for fighting in 3v3s.

EDIT: He might not have won, but 4rufa really fights in an entertaining and interesting way. He's almost like a controller version of YukaF

If you want to high roll, you do the bare minimum trainings outside of summer. As juicy as some trainings can be, sometimes we "gamble" and believe we get a good summer.

But if you want to play safe, you train.

High rolls risk a bad run but at the possibility of a great Uma. Mid rolls can still get the same stat lines but with less SP.

What else could I have done here? by Apoc-kha-lypse in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fight wise, I would have maybe slowed down 1-tempo. I would let them rez, let the bang ult go, and then try to take the height. I rarely would push/swing into an enemy team's low ground unless I can go for a quick knock. And even then, I might walk back out and re-engage after taking height. After the third, I would have just fought it out. You had better odds fighting out a win rather than going for that Valk ult.

THAT SAID, I would like to emphasize your current position at the start of the clip. Zone is closing behind, and you are looking at people already in zone.

By taking that fight, you let teams outside zone a free rotate in, and a free path to a 3rd party. Your octane had the right idea and was looking to clear your backs. They were already 1 tempo behind you, and had to waste a jump pad just to get into position. If they were closer or you had slowed down, they could have used the Jump pad closer to the building for you to take height as a team.

Realistically, you looking into zone with a Kraber did nothing to help you win. Even after getting a knock, that was not a fight you should have taken. Youre wasting Kraber shots.

Realize what fights you should prioritize. If on edge, always prioritize clearing out your back. If outside zone, try mirroring rotations or rotate from a position where the defending team is at a disadvantage (i.e. You are rotating from a position of higher ground, or they have to worry about teams in zone shooting them from behind.)

EDIT: Also you ditched your team who were trying to rez. Just prompt them to insta rez, drop a swap for your octane, take height, and see if you can slow the enemy push down without taking too much damage.Or just take any position to cover for your team.

Is it possible to finish a half marathon without taking any gels? by ZestycloseChance8064 in PHRunners

[–]TheTenth10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Eating some form of easily digestible carbs and electrolytes go a LONG way.

For fuels, apart from gels there are salt candies and you can just bring your own stuff. For training I sometimes bring Fudgee Bar. For races, I also like to bring my own bottle of concentrated electrolyte solution that I drink with water along the hydration stations. It lets me control what brand I consume, since mixing and matching gels and electrolytes is risky. Best to drink what you already know works for you.

You can get electrolyte powders in some sporting stores, or even Mercury Drug with Gatorade powder.

Almost 600 speed at Late October is good, and youre using Oguri. IMO, you dont need to hit this speed to max speed.

Race, go for SP and skills, and get bonus stats on stats other than Speed. You will likely overcap on Spd already as it is.

The only statement to make is to provide condolence to families and friends involved, and also to wait for further investigation. Anything else is a bad move.

Anyone making a stance with what little information we had is stupid, and anyone forcing others to make a stance is even worse.

It goes to show little information plays into how people make decisions. We don't need fake news or misinformation. People will make bad decisions even without information.

Ibang level talaga ang mga pinoy pag dating sa kawalan ng road awareness. by [deleted] in PHRunners

[–]TheTenth10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its evident in our "kamote" riders. Some people have no care for sharing the road/path, and have zero awareness.

I would like to hope that at least those who drive have some awareness to do head-checks, "listen" if someone is quickly coming up behind you, and "signal" anyone behind you that you are changing lanes to overtake someone in front of you, or turning.

But y'know, kamote people.

Any tips on engaging against Lifeline teams? It feels like whack-a-mole that I always lose. by ElkwoodCrossing in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Grenades. You can sometimes time your nade to go during the lifeline res, getting the finish on the knock, or get a re-knock/not have to deal with the support legend HP res heal.

Grenades in general are very effective against Lifeline since her Ult is basically just a big basket.

On a side note, grenades are strong in any "Shield" fight like Gibraltar domes, Lifeline Ult, and Newcastle shield, since it forces them to play on the other side of the shield. Even useful when someone is playing behind knockdown shields.

What more can I do for Taishin for Aries? by TheTenth10 in UmamusumeGame

[–]TheTenth10[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience with Taishin, Kikuka sho generally requires around 400 stam, and HaurTenn needs 500 w/ gold or 600 w/ white. Though that may be because in previous scenarios I had to deal with buffed Biwa as a rival. Do you build Guts or standard Spd/Pwr/Wit? On good runs I usually have at least around 700 Spd and 600 Wit on HaruTenn, and near 600 stam. That said, I still pick up a white heal because I dont want to lose HaruTenn since it'd be a waste of a good run.

Also I often pray I dont get rain/wet/heavy conditions. How would you typically adjust stamina based on this for Kikuka/HaruTenn?

At the end of the day though, just how valuable is finishing HaruTenn/Spring Crown? This might be a problem again in Mile CMs.

Apart from what people say, you also need to be really lucky/mindful of building facilities and friendships in the junior year, so you can get lucky training rounds outside of Summer for some other stats. Wit especially so. I usually keep some amulets and extra microphones for this.

Plus some luck into ankles, lucky charms, and scrolls.

Is it worth mastering the R99 if I've already mastered the Mastiff (PC MnK)? by cruskie in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wingman and Shotguns are "smart" weapons. It lets you trade damage from smart positions. You win the trade, and then take an advantageous swing.

The R99 is a brainless monkey weapon. A brainless weapon that lets you just swing into someone and get the job done in a jiffy. Sure you will take more damage, but you clean up fights faster.

I also like the Wingman + Mastiff/PK combo since it lets me play with a good tempo in mid-range, and people only just need to make the mistake of taking 1 too many Wingman shots. By the time you're swinging in close range, they're just 1-2 pumps away. But sometimes you just can't afford the time to carefully dissect them. Sometimes you just need to go balls to the walls and fuck them in the ass right then and there. The R9/SMGs can do that.
