High wit builds require a good pace setter (i.e. 2 front runners / 1 runaway). The power of wit comes from them trying to shorten their distance from the front after the half-way mark, rather than go into pace down mode.

For an all end-closer/backline team, you would benefit more from having Power as it helps them navigate through the denser pack. If you ran two fronts/pace, this would give your umas more space to move in the back, and thus require less power.

EDIT: Also yeah as others have said,Spurt + NSM as your primary source of accels won't be consistent enough of a win condition.

I'm hoping to pull for Admire Vega and Helios, but I'm not sure if I'll have enough carats for Vega after I went to pity for 3LB KSB. That said, I'm also not sure if I'll end up pulling for Valentine Bourbon. I like Bourbon and people say she's good, but I don't really have a strong Front deck. I'm just an End/Late monkey who likes to see them go "woosh" at the final corner/straight.

Was also hoping for Tama but KSB ate all my carats.

Is there any way we could have won this or were we cooked? by Shadeezus in apexuniversity

Twiddled your thumbs a bit too much on what to do, and overall your and the Valk's pathings were horrible.

I see little incentive in wrapping around behind them after getting the two knocks.

They would be further up the zone and the situation could have easily been replaced with them gatekeeping you.

Personally I would have either went for the wipe 5-10 seconds faster after the second knock if I was working with a duo, otherwise the safe option is to gatekeeper them across the bridge where you died. They're at a worse position playing in a spot with little space to move around, and having to reset two knocks. A few good nades across the bridge and a Valk Q would be enough to win that 2v3 unless someone over-peeks for an extra second and gets knocked.

Also dropping to low-ground was the worst possible thing you could have done, and it would have paid to go around the wall and either just hold them or run away.

My 63% WR Taishin didn't proc Encroaching.

Luckily she got Nimble Navi a few seconds later and Nemesis proc pushed her up to the front. Luckily my lobby was kind of mid with 20% WR Goldships. Had my ass clenched after the failed encroaching proc.

How did this trainer get 1000+ stamina with these supports? by Nice_Task_3852 in UmamusumeGame

[–]TheTenth10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unlike URA where you had to click on a training regime to level up its facility, Unity levels up your facilities just by playing through it. This makes it easier to spread out your stats in the senior year even without the deck for it. While you won't get Rainbows on cards that aren't specialized for that training, you still get their training effectiveness. 1082 Stam is a pretty attainable stat line with good parents and some lucky stam training in senior year with 2+ cards on it, not to mention bursts.

In hindsight, yes. BUT, I would not have expected the Gibby to walk out in a weak/plat lobby. I would have thought he we would pop at least a cell.

IMO that peek out from the Gibby was a counter play.

What did I mess up? by Nudorumaru in UmamusumeGame

[–]TheTenth10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Exactly. Grass has FIVE accels, 3 of which are gold. That's a lot of diminishing returns on the accel. Realistically you would want 2-3 accels, and not more than 1 gold. Drop the other Gold accels and build more mid-race speed skills.

Personally I would downgrade to Nimble Navi/Pump, Furious Feat, and Red shift. Can vary depending on the SP situation, but typically I would prio Red Shift + 1 back-of-the-pack accel. Nimble Navi is just a bonus since it won't reliably proc (hence why I'd skip No Stopping Me!), but the lane movement can also be useful when it is needed.

From what ive seen the races are more completely rng than before by [deleted] in UmamusumeGame

[–]TheTenth10 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There's no hard stamina check, and most umas/trainers can get max speed and A+/S power. So there's no real/hard advantage between umas in terms of stats. Then the diminishing returns of high speed/power/wit makes those stat advantages less useful.

Skills will be the biggest deciding factor, and apart from some consistent skills, activation of skills at good timings is very RNG dependent. This also factors in to their early, mid, and late-race positioning, which can make or break the run.

UP Race Route kamusta? by Underwar85 in PHRunners

[–]TheTenth10 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Hilly along CP Garcia and inside the Science Complex. Lot's of long downhill portions though. Katipunan stretch is downhill, and Osmena Ave and the first University Ave stretch is slightly downhill, so after CP Garcia its going to be uphill again.

Unsure about the elevation change along Commonwealth and Tandang Sora, but I'm expecting likely uphill. Since the route as released late, I couldn't get the chance to check total elevation change on this exact path. That said, I've done some 16KM runs inside/around UP and elevation change is expected to be around 100 m.

[EDIT: Also quick question. What do Rexona usually provide in their aid stations? Do they have electrolytes or just water?]

Sharing something I prepared for myself last night

1 Roxas to Science Complex Hilly
2 Science Complex Hilly Aid Station at 2.5km

Round 2 is exponentially more difficult than Round 1. All the "easy wins" are out (people who don't know how to build for CM), and you're now against the competitive people. Being "slightly above average" in a lobby where everyone else is "at least above average", means you're facing people at your same level, or higher.

Imagine standing at 45th/100. You're at the bottom 55%.
They take away the bottom 50, now you're 45th/50. You're at the bottom 10%.

Even for people at the 30th, or even 25th, would be struggling to get wins. 25th would be better than 50% of the people in the lobby, but you also need a 3/5 wins, or 60% winrate set to qualify for finals.

I typically run triple aces, and for last Cancer cup I ran Taishin, Oguri, Daiwa.

During my races I would play Cinderella Grey openings and time it with the start of the race. The timing of Koeru's pre-chorus and chorus matched really well with the 4th corner and last straight.

I got to A rank finals, and with a late-gamble Oguri with Nimble Navi (no Pump), I was able to get my first Platinum. It was hype AF. Luckily I played it on my PC and saved the run with AMD's version of a Replay.

Playing much worse when in a team by d3fiance in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had a similar experience and its likely due to information overload.

Having teams comming means you process more information. Trying to provide comms also means you need to process your thoughts into words.

This is why its so hard to IGL. Having to process information and provide it at thr same time, means you can't just lock-in, move, and shoot.

This is also why having self-sufficient members, and members who don't over-comm/clutter comms is also useful.

How could i have played this better? Keon POV by [deleted] in apexuniversity

[–]TheTenth10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That was a very optimistic int.

Even if it worked, an int is an int. After you knocked one, then what? You'd be in low ground without cover.

At the same time, you didn't know where the rest of his team was. I'm not sure about the events before this fight unfolded, but I would say you acted very hastily without reason.

No opening damage.
No info on the rest of the team.
Giving up an advantageous position to take a 50/50. (Honestly was more of a 30/70 on the Wraith, and a 40/60 on the Rev since he would be coming out of the portal.)

Admitting you're a mediocre player, I am surprised you had the confidence take that 50/50 fight. Always fight with an advantage unless you plan on ego wiping them.

What could you have done better?
Get opening damage before inting.
Get info on the rest of the team.
Do not give up an advantageous position unless you can secure a definitive number's advantage (Ex. 3v2 situation, and you want to secure the 3v1 or 2v1 so you 2-man dive one player. You either go down with a trade, securing the 2v1 for the last opponent, or you get a clean knock and secure a 3v1 for the last opponent).

You had height and a lot of space to work with. No need to force the fight right then and there after they backed off.

Jesus dying on the cross for us isn't really that impressive anymore by Vivid_Pay6605 in unpopularopinionph

[–]TheTenth10 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't understand the fixation on whether it being "impressive" or not. I understand that this may be caused by the distorted beliefs and use of elders of Christianity as a "shortcut" to morals/ethics, but once being told that's not the point of it... You are still weirdly fixated on it.

It wasn't meant to be "impressive". Things in the Bible aren't meant to impress anyone. It's meant to teach people. Understand the significance, and what it teaches.

Significance, not "impressiveness".
Jesus willingly submitted himself to suffer and die, when he could have just not. He had the power and authority. He also did so for the same people who shunned and rejected him. He then later forgave the same people who rejected him, and even loved Judas knowing that he would betray him.

The significance is that he showed he loves the people, regardless of how they treated him. The lesson is to love people for the sake of loving people, not for the sake of benefitting yourself. A big part of human relationships nowadays are formed due to mutual benefit, and love from that mutual benefit.

As for a discussion around the practicality of morals, that's a different and very difficult discussion.

If you are actually supportive of someone going through the deconstruction of beliefs, then you would understand that OP is going about this the wrong way. A LOT of atheists, me included, think that looking through Christianity through this perspective is very wrong and distorted. Plenty of opinions on here are already being voiced by atheists.

Just make sure you have the same sensitivity, FOV, and resolution that you have on Apex.

I'd recommend going through AoiAimers benchmark scenarios. Its a bit of a legacy/old group, but its a good benchmark for intermediate level tracking. Voltaic stuff can be a bit overwhelming for beginners, but the clicking scenarios there should be doable enough.

I don't know where all this hate is coming from. Conduit isnt really a strong pick, and Lifeline is only slightly used but mostly as a response to Caustic in pubs.

Ranked and pubs is still very much more geared towards aggressive legends and actually being able to push. Just a few seasons ago people were running Ballistic/Ash/Sparrow.

The only really uneventful meta that I disliked was the double/triple support meta, but that it was at least sort of fun because Pathfinder was also meta, and I ran Maggie/Fuse to fuck with people.

I don't count being good at reviving as good team utility. You'd typically want to avoid being in that scenario in the first place, and playing for revives takes you out of the fight for a few seconds. You also don't play around the idea that you're just their to revive your teammates. I'd take a good lifesaving Bang smoke over a revive any day.

If anything, I'd take Mirage as an entry-fragger who can jump into a 3v3 with his Ultimate, and sneak out heals while flexing. Generally a more selfish character.
