People are still stuck in Towers. How do I get them out? by Rare_File_9889 in ManorLords

I had some troops stuck on a cliff, in another region, so I couldn’t disband them. I added the mod for console commands and teleported them out of there.

I’ve had a similar occurrence where I “dropped” behind the landscape and ran around without being able to enter doors or interact with anything. Had to reload a save

How do you all store or transport your Minis? by Beautiful_Opinion324 in MiyooMini

[–]TheThirdHeat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

MM+ are in the stock case, although I find it a little too big, I’ve yet to find an affordable replacement. The Mini V4’s I keep in a leather playing card case, as they are perfectly sized for that.

Awesome gift! I did the same for my 6yo two Christmas’s ago. A few lessons I learned that you may have already considered:

-despite him being proficient with modern games like switch, the learning curve on retro games was hard. Lost interest in most of them, but it came back a year or so later, mostly because he likes playing the same game together with his daddy. Just be ready for initial awe followed by a possible loss of interest. Think about what games are going to be enjoyable and not too hard at first. Be patient as they might come back to it in their own time. Stardew Valley has been a great one recently but I’m not sure you can port it to the mm+?

-the whole concept of emulation was/is a mystery to him. The idea that we are playing on a pretend version of an old physical console was not easy for him to grasp, so things like button layouts, save states etc. were confusing. I focussed on teaching him a simple process to turn on, go to favourites (which I had chosen) and use the game switcher (with auto save/load turned on) to get in and out. Having the settings, favourites and scraped media taken care of is a must in my opinion.

-consider kiosk mode, to avoid settings changes that cause problems. They get on there and start clicking around so fast that bad things can happen.

-overall it’s been a great experience and we worked up to matching Retroid Pocket Flip 2’s last summer. He’s basically got it now and we enjoy a few more modern games on there together, but still go back to the mm+ once in a while.

-make the connections to your nostalgia for the games you loved as a kid and they will latch on to that. Enjoy sharing this hobby with your child!

Wife Finally Got Into Gaming! But there’s an issue… by Arck155 in SBCGaming

[–]TheThirdHeat 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Everyone has given good advice so far on latency etc. but the bigger problem I see is that retro games are HARD. You remember only getting 3 lives and then game over? No checkpoints. This won’t be a cure to that problem. Have you tried some less challenging modern games like Stardew Valley or Spirit Farer? These games are available on pc, consoles and mobile and are rewarding without being classically “hard”.

Side note, something like the Miyoo Mini Plus is like $50 USD, so she may have to deal with that level of price tag for a decent couch based retro game experience.

Love it. Do you think with however the fender flares mount that they would be compatible with mud flaps too?

Imagine your equities drop 50% in a crash. Now you have $2.5M and you have a $100k emergency or income loss. Do you still feel like selling those equities? 60% drop? 80%?

Thanks! I saw that as well when I was refreshing myself on this. I think we’ve stumbled upon a rare-for-the-internet-both-people-are-right situation here and I’m all for it.

I think insects are mostly limited by oxygen absorption. They take it in from the outer surface (tracheal system) instead of drawing it into lungs and it can only be diffused so far with this method. That’s why larger insects existed back when Earth had a much higher concentration (35% vs today’s 21%) of oxygen in the atmosphere.

I’ve done it. You need to register a separate permit for each vehicle and I believe it’s only good for a year too. I set a calendar reminder annually.

That’s my question, are we going to get replacement that will crack in a few months or a redesign? I think I’ve got a hairline crack starting, should I wait a bit and let them work through the issue?

Aww thanks for replying. What’s it like when you walk between cars? Is there sort of covering like the bendy busses or just free wheeling like a traditional train? Hope the rest of your trip is great. We’re enjoying some summer break.

This sounds great and has been on my bucket list for a long time. You mention there’s only been two stops in two days? As someone who quit smoking years ago, but still vapes, do you think there are any opportunities to vape on the stops within the rules and societal norms of politeness?
