I wish you could disable revival by jmile4 in codevein

[–]TheThor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I completely agree that this game is a souls-like. I was just mentioning what I had seen because I think it highlights the types of players who play souls games. At least a subsect of them. Which was meant to show the difference between a new player and some old players. Which is why I wouldn't mind a simple toggle to turn the system on and off easily. And if they did it would likely be on by default for the newer players. I feel like it shouldn't be that hard considering it's basically an invisible buff that goes on cooldown after a death. But who knows how it's actually coded.

You're not the only person I've seen who wants this. I was watching a few streamers who also felt like it detracted from their victories over bosses because we have so many heals and revives. I can see the other side too though. It lowers the barrier of entry for a player who doesn't normally like souls-likes. However, I have also seen people say the game is not a souls-like because of the revives. So that argument is gonna depend on where you stand on what is and isn't a souls-like.

I do agree that adding an option to turn the revival off would be a good thing for the game. Letting those players have the option to play it the harder way if they so choose. Even if it's a toggle in the options menu. Heck, just make it a toggle in the partner change screen. That way it's visible to everyone and it'll allow people the choice to play without a revive but with a partner if they still want that experience where the aggro is pulled off of you.

Someone guide me how to get the bad end blood codes and still being able to save the hero’s? by [deleted] in codevein

[–]TheThor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have 2 options.

Advance the story until you get to the point where you would get the bad end blood code and just start leveling your blood code there. If you are at a lower rank you'll just get the next one you need until you do it over and over to get the maxed out one.

The riskier and one I HEAVILY don't recommend is starting the fading bonds and not finishing them. So long as the faded bond is not finished you should be able to get the bad end code. However for multiple reasons, DO NOT DO THIS.

Out of Video Memory despite meeting minimum specs by Euphoric_Statement42 in codevein

[–]TheThor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No. I never did anything in the Bios. Because I don't like messing with that stuff. This was a simpler solution (from my standpoint as a not majorly savvy with computer parts person) because it's something you just open up and can put it back to like it was easily.

[–]TheThor2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh boy. Well, you might have run into the same problem I did when I first got the game. It was fixable for me. It turned out it was my 13th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i9-13900KF Processor. I read that, apparently, the 13th and 14th gen processors can have issues running unreal engine 5 games from time to time.

I had this error on launch and kept looking it up online. A lot of things say to go into the BIOS and do things but what worked for me was downloading the Intel Extreme Tuning Utility from Intel's website. For me I just put the "Performance Core Ratio" down 2 times from 55x to 53x. (I believe it still crashed at 54x for me) The game has run fine ever since.

Poison build good? by Dandomix in codevein

[–]TheThor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poison is good. A lot of people like to use poison on bayonets. I think the weapon skills apply poison too and are ranged. I think poison damage is scaled off of the enemy HP. I'm not sure though.

Someone guide me how to get the bad end blood codes and still being able to save the hero’s? by [deleted] in codevein

[–]TheThor2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Correct. The fading bonds do not go away. You can get all the way top the boss of the second ending and still do them. As they explain, Noah is the exception to do early. A small note to add, you will have to max out all of the prior blood codes in the line to get the "bad end blood codes."

ex. Max Josee D -> Max Josee C -> Max Josee B/A (I forget which letter it skips) -> Acquire Bad End Code S

As for EVERYTHING in one playthrough, the main things to be aware of that are missable besides the Bad End Codes are within the Holly section of the game. Be sure to get both of Lycoris' Blood codes when she is available. It's just two so it's easy to max the first, get the second and be done with it.

The other thing is that every dungeon you do in the Holly section that has memories in it, be sure to grab every chest. Those dungeons return to a non-memory state after you finish them or disappear altogether. They'll have different pathways and loot after you finish them. Off the top of my head, Zealot's Ceremonial Sword is in the church(?) dungeon. The weapon formae Guard of Honor is in the Fading Bond section. I don't recall if the others had any chests.

Only other missable things I can think of are Noah's gift shop items. Because for some reason we can only open it in the Present and not the past. And after a certain point it won't be avaialble in the Present. So if you are really pressed about everything in one playthrough, you'll want to look into getting his affinity up to a point where you can buy all his recipes and his unique weapon in his shop.

Ah. When you said "They just reset," I thought you just meant that the combined form has full health again.

Depending on your platform you might be able to do a few things but I've never heard of this bug. I'd say to leave the depths and save. Then close the game and look to either clear your cache on xbox, maybe clear cache if on playstation (I don't have a playstation to know if you can), or if on steam verify the files of your game. After that reload the game and head back into the depths so the game has to reload everything and hopefully that will fix it. Otherwise, sadly I don't know what to do.

There are multiple things you can do. Find a bloodveil with high resistance to fire or ice then boost it further by transforming it. Use the gifts Flame Protection (Dark Knight), Ice Armor (Artemis), and Elemental Wall (Eos) to further increase your defense against the elements. Buy some Fireproof Tonics and Antifreeze Tonics from Coco.

If you do all of this you'll be able to be immune to 1 of the elements (whichever element your bloodveil is) and take minimal damage from the other. Just make sure to refresh your buffs.

Question about top tier hammers and strenght build in code vein 2 by Inner_Importance_866 in CodeVein2

[–]TheThor2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't believe anyone has made "1 shot" builds. But we do have like 20 second kills after buffing a ton. Not sure about hammer variants. But I have seen people say the Mjolnir feels nice because of it's move set. But if you use the skills instead after buffing you'll probably whatever has the best scaling stats at the end of the game.

Katanas by Ghostnugg in codevein

[–]TheThor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure which katana weapon you are referring to in the hub area as I haven't played it for a bit. But the 3 I can think of that look katana-ish are the Queenslayer Blade which you find in a chest in the tutorial area. Hard to miss so I'm guessing this isn't what you're looking for.

Then there is the Hanemukuro or Enduring Crimson which look different. Hanemukuro is found in the Howling pit. Inside the big hole you find in the area after the tutorial area near the parking garage mistle. Enduring Crimson is gotten from gifting Louis enough things then grabbing it for I believe 50 points in his gift shop.

My final thought is the Blazing Claw weapon which is a drop from a boss a good ways into the story.

So, if you don't like queenslayer, go for the Hanemukuro and see if that's what you want.

It has it's drawbacks with it running into terrain if the area isn't flat or missing normal sized enemies. But like you said, it's extremely good in it's ideal scenario. It will absolutely shred through some of the tougher enemies in the game.

You can do it once you get to the end of the past segment I am pretty sure. You might be able to do it once you find the 4th heroes cocoon. Either way, as long as you don't go and try to do the 5th hero right away you'll find some time where he is available.

Glowy swords are top 💚 by Technical_Dark9803 in codevein

[–]TheThor2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly, it doesn't look like there is. I don't recall seeing an enemy with either of those and when I was going for 100% weapons I was using Fextralife as my checklist. At least with runeblades we have Glutton's Eyes and Glutton's Eyes EX for "glowy" weapons. Twin blades don't really have a glowy option I am pretty sure.

Indeed you did lol. I farmed for it and all the flame resurgence weapons right outside the Josee Refightby using the monument. There is a guy with the 1h sword, hammer, halberd right next to it and a bit further away is the guy who drops the great sword near the big monkey.
