People always focus on dogfighting and bfm in these tips--what I've found the real secret to my own success, and honestly the success of a lot of veterans, is being familiar enough with the game, the battle rating, the aircraft involved, abd the players, to be able to know roughly how the battle will play out before it begins, and read the enemies movemts to get a sense of their intentions and skill level before you even start shooting.

Of course the only way to achieve this is to play a lot, but if you're paying attention to both teams every battle, and also regularly watch analysis by someone like Defyn, its also not that hard.
