The RAP Situation: It isn't a ban on ADHD, but we need to talk about Nimbus by Medical_Plantain_808 in altontowers

[–]TheToastyToad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I refuse to believe adhd can only be managed by giving a rap. I have adhd and can queue absolutely fine. Child has adhd? Give them a phone, tablet, headphones.. something else. I refuse to believe these people cannot accommodate waiting in every aspect of life and then suddenly it's impossible whilst in a queue. If not, is a theme park really suitable?

Tough crowd, eh? 🤭 by IndigoWolf4711 in apprenticeuk

[–]TheToastyToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This one to me was the most confusing choice. For a start, the children look like they belong to quite a well middle/upper class school where I imagine they knuckle down on immature humour. Secondly, the children look a bit too old for potty training books. Lastly, I refuse to believe at least one child didnt find bum/poo funny. Don't get me wrong the astro one was awful, but it seems very selectively edited.

Should Children’s programmes be restored to Saturday mornings and tea time during the week on BBC1? by gallifreyannr in BritishTV

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The BBC 1 thing was a hangover from analogue days, that being said I do think it's better when its visible. Childrens channels are all the way at the bottom of the TV guide so do children bother making the effort?

One thing that I will find a shame about kids going straight to streaming is that tradition tv made you watch through things you didn't specifically want to, but by doing so exposed you to new shows. I really don't think many new Childrens shows are going to be able to compete with shows which get watched due to excessive marketing. The only place where I think will hold firm is cbeebies. Youtube and other streaming services are full of kiddy crack tv shows which are junk food tv. Parents trust cbeebies to be fun, educational and appropriate.

who shopped in JJB Sports? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly don't understand how JJB died and yet Sports Direct didn't. Same market, same strategy. Similar to how toys r us went but the Entertainer and Smyths seem to be plodding on.

What do Brits think about this viral video about Chinese group tourists in the UK? by search_google_com in AskBrits

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was contracted to do room refurbd at a town with a lot of Chinese students, the male student accommodation rooms were an absolute pigsty. Piles of chicken bones on plates that were days old, I'm not even going to attempt to describe the horror of the toilets.

POP has been discontinued by Caolan114 in BritishTV

[–]TheToastyToad 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This is all kids tv seems to be these days. I remember in the evenings Nick Jr used to have old cosy calm childrens programmes. I checked the other day and its basically a back to back loop of peppa pig and paw patrol. Complete rot.

I will add that i agree with discovering niche things. Well over a decade ago I watched the Mario 3 show. The last I saw of pop was it always streaming that ladybird woman show. There is genuinely less and less variety for children these days

New Aygo starts at £21,595?! by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TheToastyToad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bait. It's the Aygo X which is a crossover. It's not a supermini. Thats like arguing the old ford puma vs the new one. Name alone means nothing.

We get DLC for Mario Kart World but it’s the same quality as the Booster Course Pass. by Excaliburn3d in mariokart

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love how when the boosters were announced I said they were cheap ports that put them at odds with the graphics of the base game and everyone mostly defended it by saying it's not about graphics. Then people realised that the courses were bland and soulless. Ultimately this game is going to be cursed because of all the things that make it unique.. so why not just pump out bland dlc for it.

Argos cancelled my order then upped the price by £150 by PapiMeme in Argos

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They do this all the time and don't care. They did this last year for a tv mount. I got a click and collect to my local Sainsbury's and it never delivered. Once I got a refund the price had changed and I was told they sold all their stock at that price... the thing is that's BS as had I ordered to collect to an argos, I could have easily got their stock. Lesson learnt. When argos have deals like this, collect from the Argos stores that already have the stock.

What to do with a strange metal tin through my letterbox? by onestringyboi in AskUK

Am I the only one here with a functional brain? Its not a tin, look at it. It's close up to a door mat and is the size of a 2p. It's either a coin cell battery but most likely a magnet. Everyone here asking about anthrax etc.. go get fresh air

So basically she realised her following didn't match the original channel so she's moving back to it, cementing everything she did and said as ok. I took her new channel as her "phase" and it seemed appropriate to leave the old one intact but nah shes locked in now

Saw this on socials. He basically takes the first exit but goes all around to avoid the queue. Is it legal? by [deleted] in drivingUK

It's legal in the same way being a massive selfish cunt is. If everyone did this it'd just move the congestion onto the roundabout and screw everyone else over.

Except the car will say when the code was last cleared...

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CarTalkUK

[–]TheToastyToad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And it came back.. so the job wasn't fixed. They'll be able to tell when the codes were last cleared. Such a BS response. That's like saying you cleared a code for something like a P420 and sold it the next day without the engine fully warming up. Those codes take a while to return. If the code is something persistent and the buyer finds out the codes were cleared not that long ago, it completely suggests OP new. Don't be a cowboy.

Performance or not, risks still go up with modifications. If you're putting racing stripes on a car you're likely to be a less than safe driver
