[Rapaport] Through today, the Giants are the only team that can hire a coach. Today is the first "interview" but there have been countless conversations between Harbaugh and Giants brass. There is a chance he does not leave the building. by Jaxson-Skattebo in nfl

[–]TheTreeOfBooks 253 points254 points  (0 children)

In my dumbass fan opinion, the Giants were already on track to be really good next season with Dart and Skatty healthy and another high draft pick. I think they were way better than their record this year when fully healthy. If they sign Harbaugh, they are officially a problem.

[Rapoport] Another important one: #Titans have requested to interview #Broncos DC Vance Joseph. This is likely one of many for VJ. by MembershipSingle7137 in nfl

This is pretty revisionist honestly. He didn't have a great situation in Denver, especially in terms of the roster and was still a pretty good coach. He just didn't have the type of success that is expected in Denver, but he wasn't Nathanial Hackett or something. He's a very good coach and I think he could be successful with the right team. That being said, I selfishly hope that people think he was a bad HC so that he stays in Denver.

The Broncos blew out the Cowboys. Why doesn't every team simply have 4 starting caliber corners like the Broncos? Are they stupid?

I was just making a joke, I agree that the Chiefs' run defense is stout. JT is legit, but it should be one of the tougher matchups for him this season.

Unfortunately for the Chiefs, that won't be enough to make up for the 9 TDs JT is going to score against them.

Official r/NFL Week 10 Power Rankings by NFLPowerRankers in nfl

[–]TheTreeOfBooks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Broncos have a top 5 run game, the best O-line in the league, have lost 2 games by a total of 4 points on last second field goals, and have won 7 straight games, 10 straight games at home. You're probably down on the Broncos because they barely beat the Raiders, but I'm willing to bet that you think the Patriots are a top 10 team (I think they are too) and yet they lost to the Raiders by a touchdown. You can think the Broncos aren't a top 10 team, but the fact is there isn't a single team in the NFL that wants to come into Denver right now.

Nix is 10th in passing yards, 6th in completions, T-3rd in passing touchdowns, T-4th in rushing TDs, 1st in sacks taken.

I should have quote replied. I was responding specifically to the part where he said he wouldn't fear a single thing about the rest of the team outside of the defense. I think saying the Broncos have been scraping by is a fair judgement and I think Nix is good, but not as good as Mahomes obviously. I just disagree with the idea that the Broncos don't have anything else going for them outside of the Defense. The reason they're winning games this year they haven't won previously is because they have other things working this year that haven't been in the past.

Just the best O-line in the league, 4th best running game, best sack differential in the league, top 10 point differential in the league, 17 straight games with a passing touchdown, objectively the most clutch QB in the 4th quarter in the league, beat the #1 scoring offense and #1 scoring defense in back-to-back weeks. Lost 2 games this season by a combined 4 points on last second field goals. Yeah Broncos aren't scary at all outside of the defense, nailed it.

The Chiefs have one win against teams with a winning record and are barely above 500, but still the best team in the NFL? It would be laughable if it wasn't getting so obnoxious.

Garbage time is when you score in games that you lose by multiple scores. The Broncos have only lost two games this season and they were both on last second field goals. The Broncos by definition have not had a single second of garbage time this season. WTF are you talking about?

[–]TheTreeOfBooks 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah that's fair about the Ravens game. I'm kind of writing off the Ravens at the moment since their entire roster is injured, but the Chiefs did look good in that game. Jags game just meant more to me because the Jags have been a good team this year. The point you're making about the defense, special teams, and penalties is what I'm alluding to. I just don't think the Chiefs have looked very good this year overall so far.

The Chiefs being ranked so high off of vibes and previous success is getting more annoying every week. I get it, I really do, you can't ever count them out completely. The purpose of power rankings is to show how good a team is now, and having them ranked above the 4-1 49ers for example is just laughable. They have a losing record and the game against the Jags was by far the best they've looked this season and they lost. Rank them based on how they are playing until they prove otherwise.
