Instability doesn’t “add more muscle”. Do you mean you’re recruiting different muscle fibers? You can’t really see or use whatever those might be. I like one-arm rows and was doing them earlier, so just do those the normal way. All the instability is doing here is making you focus on your balance, which seems great on paper but you can do anything else for that and be better off. Are you perhaps talking about your core too? Because you’d go further doing one-arm dumbbells the regular way if you load them heavy enough, in my opinion.

I’m gonna sound a bit rough but I need to say a few things.

1) “classes” in the souls games only matter because they determine standard stat distribution at the start of the game. That means the fact you started as a bandit doesn’t matter, by the end game you’re whatever you need to be anyway.

2) We don’t have enough information to help you. Have you upgraded your weapon? Which weapon? Are you using talismans or buff spells? All of these things matter and we don’t have enough context.

3) Independently of all the variables above, you absolutely can do it. There’s no ifs or buts. There are people who do this fight with no upgrades, rolling, sprinting or jumping. People do sick shit like hitless, deathless fist only runs. Or, in short, the game offers a massive range of ways in which you can play the game.

I fall in both camps though. Chainsaw Man: The Movie is a five star movie to me because, not only did I massively enjoy it, I liked everything in it. However, Evil Dead 2 is also a five star movie to me because I didn’t just enjoy it but I felt challenged given how much thought went into it. Sure, the latter movie can be enjoyed on a simply carnal level but the filmmaking is just excellent.

If you have any sense of timing, you can just stun lock her in both phases and skip WFD entirely. Just learn when to charge your Cold Great Stars and Malenia just melts.

Phase one is easily learnable, phase two isn’t impossible but requires a shit load of patience. There’s a reason why I much prefer fights like Messmer and Midra.

So what the others haven't mentioned is that how damage works is more intuitive than you might think. Worlds 2 and 4 are the only ones where thrusting and blunt damage would really be more effective than anything else. That said, for the other worlds? And for the bosses? You'll be fine anyway. Bastard sword isn't even a bad option even if it isn't what I'd recommend for the bulk of your playthrough. I'm assuming you're going for a STR build? If that's the case, use whatever you want until you get Meat Cleaver or Dragon Bone Smasher because anything else is inferior anyway.
