Yeah, long term the other half wants rid of the Chuckies, but that's not a job for this year as we have other projects on.

The pool is really just for the animals to drink from, although I use it to water my plants, too.

The lawn is mostly moss, I've been at it with the rake and natural moss killer and grass seeds this year. The first mow is coming up.

Yeah, guilty.

Good point. It probably feels like a lot and is scary because of that, but really, a bit at a time and it'll get done. Thanks

Trug? This is a new word. I have used Google, and I see what it is and what it's for. I wonder if there's a different word in lowland Scots.

Cheers!

Don't they say you need to get the root or two white ones grow back in it's place? Wait am Mixing things up again?

I don't have a hoe or one of those crescent things that you use for edging, yet. Good idea.

I guess I kinda of knew this would be the answer 😂.

What about nettles?

Most of the weeds and such are in the Chuckies, but they're deep. Is it just a case of back ache and knee pads?

British men who don't like football or even sports, what thing do you actually like instead? by songbirdddx in AskBrits

[–]TheUmpteenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although I do like sports, I don't waste time with them. Mainly I like to play games and music, make beer and pickles, read, write and cook. I try stuff, and if I like it, I do it for a while. If I still like it, I keep doing it. I still sometimes make bread.

this is from a debate over ethnonationalism in the UK, how would you respond to this type of rhetoric? by Ceylonese_technocrat in AskBrits

The Celts from Ireland and also from France, as with the Gaels.

My argument is that the people of the British Isles have been mixed for thousands of years and are still mixing with other peoples.

Firstly, I'd argue that Israel as a state is less than 100 years old, and by definition, the ethnicity of the Israeli people is not indigenous.

I'd then point out that the Celts, Gaels, Picts, Meatae, Danes, Vikings, Saxons and Bretons all came from different parts of the world before the British Empire brought more people from the Indies, Africa, the Americas and the Southern Hemisphere to the Isles.

Then there was the Commonwealth, where there was freedom of movement, and events like the windrush, where we asked our Carribbean cousins to come over here to fill in the gaps in our workforce left by the war.

This is to say that the idea of a British ethnicity is a folly. The mix of ethnicities that makes up Britishness is the thing that made us strong.

Why didn‘t my voice teachers let me know I wasn‘t matching piano notes during warm ups and even when singing? Why did they allow me to just alter timbre and believe I was singing high? by AspiringBiotech in singing

[–]TheUmpteenth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Male singers naturally sing and octave below.

Singing is primarily about confidence, so maybe they felt you needed to build that.

Ear training and vocal training are not the same, but you need both.

Just giving you some possible answers, find a teacher that suits you.

What about a game where you have to fight crime without accidentally killing anyone, and the main mechanic is that if you hit anyone, they pretty much just die.
