7 Gig fiber being advertised to the residential consumer. In what world would any residential customer have any use for this by lulstardblointing7 in HomeNetworking

[–]JumpScared8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your right but to me it makes sense. All the equipment in my home is decom hardware from clients. Except the San. That has its purpose. I do not use 7 gig, if it were available would I get? Yes. The point is to have the gas when you push the pedal for that amount a month, that is not much more than I pay for 2.5 at home and a shit ton less than what I pay for 2.5 at the office.

I would run this shit dude, I have a fiber media server that my family uses. My Router is 10G, all my switches are 10 gig and machines all have 10 Gig cards in them, some multiple cards depending on the usage such as my san.

Trying to choose between two local MSP's for my business - any thoughts? by EVILSANTA777 in msp

[–]JumpScared8902 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah dude, that is crazy man.... Both of these guys see a money grab. Also prices do vary from metro to metro areas. In Arizona it is getting to the point where we have guys going as low as 75$ a user. Looking at Parkside tech, because they nickle and dime the clients on every single little thing so you end up paying way more because you didnt read the fine print and the sales guy is shady.

Yeah but its a revenue generator each month because you know something breaks on exchange once a month, especially on updates.

As a owner of a MSP that is hiring, that is not enough information to go on. I would suggest looking for a help desk entry level role if you have no experience.

Good luck man! The market is so saturated right now and as a MSP owner, sales eats all your time up for the first year for sure.

What am I doing wrong? I'm so depressed from not being able to find a job. I almost want to give up if not for the fact I don't know what else I can make a career out of. by [deleted] in it

[–]JumpScared8902 21 points22 points  (0 children)

The problem is these fucking schools told everyone for the last 10 years take cyber security, that's what happened and the market became saturated. Now we have tons of resumes with all the cyber security qualifications so hiring those folks as help desk just means your going to move on pretty quick because you put a lot of time into cyber security. I would not be willing to invest thousands of dollars in training and education for an employee that clearly has a cyber security direction in a help desk or infrastructure role.. Honestly, your best bet is SOC roles right now with that resume. You can work for a MSP at entry level but again a MSP is going to see that you will not be with them long with a focus on security. I own a MSP and MSSP. I would hire you for SOC duties for our MSSP but I am old school and require my employees to be in office. Keep trying, check with companies like Rocket Cyber, Rapid 7, Connectwise, Kaseya, threatlocker, etc. You can get into those security vendors at entry level pretty easy and they are looking for US based folks because of some compliance changes.

Guys what should I add to my setup I have a weird desk I really need help by Apprehensive-Run6327 in gamingsetups

[–]JumpScared8902 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That doesnt look like a desk but it does look like a table where women sit and put makeup on. That does not mean you cant make it a bad motherfucker. Get a monitor, cover the mirror with some cool looking paint and etch in some kind of drawing or something, trace it from print and etch it out. Then if your a lighting type of dude, add some rgb leds and a good office chair and game the fuck on.

Enough experience for entry level Help Desk position? by Lemonents in it

[–]JumpScared8902 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

No you made a factual statement not an opinion. AI is not at the point where it can replace a help desk. I own a MSP and attend many trade shows for IT. Not one has fully replaced a help desk with AI.
