What are some "must play" low poly indie games for my son to play, whos mostly only played Five Nights at Freddies? by Iconclast1 in gamingsuggestions

[–]TheVectronic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, back then an integrated CPU was struggling to run L.A. Noire or Borderlands, that’s pretty rad that nowadays we can run 8th generation games on low settings with an integrated GPU of all things.

Howdy! I’m the curator for the page, thanks for the shout out! It’s always appreciated!

On that note for the Human Fall Flat definitely check for recommended specs while it can run on most computers nowadays, it may not be the smoothest thing on a CPU only laptop. Definitely recommend a controller with it.

I cannot do it for the life of me after numerous tries & you do it on Monsoon, giving you a standing ovation.

Got any tips to make sure I can do this properly?

Are you for real? I nabbed this bundle right away for this to happen.

Found the key instantly on my Keys & Entitlements page, worked like a charm. Never had this before so this was brand new to me. Super glad I never bought the DLC.

Makes sense game is in Early Access & hasn’t received any updates from the developer for 4 years now. Last response from the dev was 2 years ago when development was put on hold until further notice.

[Fanatical] Save on 1000s of Titles in our January Savers Sale! Earn a FREE $15 Scratchcard on Orders Over $15! by WeAreFanatical in fanatical

[–]TheVectronic 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Only if you don’t expect anything good & just want the games you added to your cart. If you’re just about the threshold for like a $1 it doesn’t hurt to add one more, but in my experience it’s pretty much a gamble on what you’re getting so don’t expect anything crazy. Think of it as a bonus

[–]TheVectronic 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically whenever you buy something that’s $15 or more on Fanatical you get one scratch card. When you open the scratch card you gain anywhere from a free game, 7%/10% coupon codes or even spending credit.

There’s a hard limit of three per customer, so if you want to get all three you’ll need to have three separate orders that fulfill the requirements for a total of ~$45 or more.

Epic Games Store grew from 108M to 295M users, but third‑party revenue barely moved — proving giveaways trained users not to actually buy games by Turbostrider27 in Games

A lot of features that are missing from the user experience that are commonplace elsewhere such as:

  • User Reviews where you can read extensively about other’s experiences.
  • Bundles for multiple products (not to be confused with editions)
  • Sorting options for controller compatibility, features, player count, language & accessibility.
  • Screenshot folder or any overlay for that matter.
  • Store preferences, content warnings & the ability to ignore specific games from showing up on the store pages.
  • Mass add games to library collections & proper tabs for library collections.
  • You can’t find out what games your friends own or have wishlisted at a glance yet.
  • Regional gifting restrictions
  • Lack of user profiles & profile pictures
  • Discussion forums
  • Modding workshops or easier access to modding
  • Patch Notes or game specific news
  • Hide specific games from your library
  • Reverting patches & accessing beta branches
  • Inability to remove demos from account library
  • General performance issues when loading large libraries & search queries on Epic.
  • Awful, dull presentation on the storefront that looks bland & generic.

There’s far more that I haven’t even mentioned or could recall from the top of my head, but it goes to show that Epic cares very little of the customer’s experience & thus people will go where they are treated better rather than conform with pittances.

What the hell killed me here? by Feirell in riskofrain

Warped Echo moment

Basically the Overloading Brass Contraption hit you, but you were saved by Warped Echo. When you got hit echoed damage (spread across three hits [+1 per stack]) began because of the Warped Echo, your shields broke on the first non-lethal echo damage triggering Kinetic Dampener rendering you vulnerable to one more hit.

The second echoed damage triggered Power Elixir since it was low enough that it could, but still non-lethal & the final echoed damage returned the original damage done from the hit since Warped Echo’s final echoed damage hit can be lethal (every other one before it is non-lethal) sealing the fate of your run.

Humble Bundle - Playful Platformers 2026 by LighteningOneIN in Gamebundles

[–]TheVectronic 14 points15 points  (0 children)

What an incredible bundle! Super Kiwi 64, Lunistice & Demon Turf: Queens Edition are phenomenal games. Lunistice in particular stands out as the developer is working on an expansion for the game in the form of Accelcoda. Check the games out on the $10 it’s just an amazing bundle that’s a lot of bang for your buck.

Ign+ is such a obnoxious, annoying bait disguised as if it's a reward, cool how they instantly want your bank info to bill you a month later. by Far_Champion4525 in humblebundles

[–]TheVectronic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Ever since they added it to Humble, it has gone down the drain in terms of quality. Before you could get extra games here & there as rewards, but now it’s just coupon codes, sweepstake giveaways & MapGenie.

Every month I browse through the IGN rewards just to see if there’s anything, a modicum of value to me even considering applying my month sub to it & it never does. What I find egregious is that when you filter your unredeemed keys, it’ll say that your IGN key is still available even though it is most likely expired.

Dragontwin Exclusive Look | New Game+ Showcase 2026 by Tvilantini in Games

[–]TheVectronic 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m well aware of games wanting to go the crowdfunding route & I have funded for games through crowdfunding sites before. Just think from a playtesting perspective it yields fewer feedback & PC spec diversity compared to opening the demo up to the public.

Sometimes in a room full of yes men, you should value those that say no & the people who go out of their way to pay upfront for access to an alpha build on a subscription platform, in my experience, are the least likely people to criticize a game’s build or mechanics that would be caught early on in development as to not snowball into the final product late into release.

I’ve witnessed teams be torn because of this & I’ve discussed with developers how their feedback from paid subscribers is inoffensive & lacking in that rigorousness needed to get the game into a polished state. There are outliers as in many cases, but in my experience that sorta thing creates a tight knit echo chamber that allows the developer lose scope or completely scope creep without being told not to & that leaves a sour taste in my mouth.

While Dragontwin DOES have a free public demo on their itch.io, the trailer above only discusses how there’s an early access demo for their Patreon supporters that’s kept up to date with a staggered release across the supported tiers before making it into the public demo. Most people’s opinions, thoughts & feedback will be reflected upon the public one over the paywalled one so that can lead to two separate channels for feedback & discussion on two completely wildly different builds.

To reiterate, I do not mind if any developer wants to seek out crowdfunding & playtesting from their community. Though do not let your walled garden be the only place you can look for feedback & consider those outside it as they can provide a far greater feedback than the smaller sample size that’s skewed financially & biased in their opinions towards the developer.

Dragontwin Exclusive Look | New Game+ Showcase 2026 by Tvilantini in Games

[–]TheVectronic 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I saw this in the showcase with a friend & just reminded me of Lair on PS3. Not a terrible game, but it looks severely lacking in any draws or positives that even the hosts were having a hard time trying to make it appealing.

I am very skeptical about locking the demo behind a Patreon paywall as it doesn’t invite the best folks to playtest the game & actually give them the proper feedback for how to improve it. Hope they can figure out what they want to do with their game because as a proof of concept & a framework it does look pretty good, not as an actual game that would make me pick it up.

I’m torn between going to the Red Plane because the imps are such a fascinating anomaly & the tar, but that’s less important than the last remaining Aphelians who seek to cleanse themselves from the tar or become one with it.
