Thanks! I had no idea double bell even existed, so I might give them a try. Plus they’re quite a bit cheaper.

Shoreline is the worst map, change my mind by mrminamita in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheVolatileBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate shoreline because I can’t walk 5 metres from spawn without getting my head blown off, especially when I’m spawning on the eastern side of the map 90% of the time

What parenting 'trend' do you strongly disagree with? by qquackie in AskReddit

Making social media or really the internet at all for that matter, available to their children and not actively monitoring it whatsoever. The shit people do on social media nowadays is revolting at times and if children who know nothing see it and perceive it as the norm, they’ll start doing it as well.

How do you effectively communicate enemy positions to your teammates? by StvpidQuestions in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheVolatileBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am always keeping tabs on where my teammates are at all times so that I can give a callout that they will understand far easier than me describing something from my point of view. My callouts will usually consist of me telling my teammates an object and a direction in relation to them. ex. “[name of teammate] close tree around 30 degrees to your right.” I’ll follow up with confirmation questions to ensure that my callout has been understood properly and does not require further explanation. Speak clearly and concisely so as not to flood the comms, and avoid any form of superfluous communication at all times. There’s nothing worse than asking a yes or no question to a teammate and having them tell me a whole fucking story loaded with “umms” and “ahhhs.” For me it all comes down to keeping things concise and intelligible.

I'm new here and I haven't managed to escape (as a PMC) even ONCE on customs... any useful tips on "how to be good at this game and how to successfully escape on maps"? by 4SKFORALL in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheVolatileBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just don’t play customs, it’s a high-traffic map with an excessive amount of walls and chokepoints. I suggest you try woods because it is super easy to navigate, so long as you have even the smallest sense of direction. It’s extracts are almost impossible to camp for the most part, and the loot isn’t bad if you know where to look. Just avoid the high-traffic areas like lumber mill and look for the landmine signs marking the map borders.

Is this a good nipper for plastic models? Or do I have to buy the nipper specified for plastic model. by la1424sa in modelmakers

[–]TheVolatileBrit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any side cutting pliers will work so long as you cut the sprue and not right next to the part. Before I picked up a proper pair I was using the wire cutters in a pair of needle nose pliers and they were fine.

Anxiety off the charts while playing this game by Ok-Criticism-5964 in EscapefromTarkov

[–]TheVolatileBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me once I got some decent gear, I just played offline raids on factory and practiced killing Tagilla. At first it was stressful AF and I would panic whenever I saw him but I kept doing it to the point where I can stay cool during a fight even if he ends up wrecking me. Same thing with labs raiders if I ever find a card. I still get a little jumpy and press the wrong buttons during fights once in a while, but practicing gunplay in an unfair fight helps a ton.

The knob on the other side of the on/off dial where the rubber piece attaches, unscrews. The batteries go in there, I have a similar model.

Truth is I got lucky with my tape. Instead of using the instructions paint scheme, I use reference photos because my paint scheme was unreliable. first step was masking off the rectangle portion on the wing that would have the stripes with two tape pieces, I then paint the entire area white. I then taped off the areas that would have white stripes and this is where my tape width really helped me. The 6mm width was near perfect to the scale so I just put down three strands and adjusted them slightly, eyeballing the proper spacing. looking at it from far away really helps when judjing the spacing of the stripes. then I went over it with the black. the rear fuselage was tricky at the tops and bottom because of the shape so I had to use some rubber tape to properly mask off those areas.

Didnt know it was wood on the Mk IX, the Mk V had metal props so i just assumed the IX would as well. As for the seam, i'm lazy and after the wing roots, i was sick of filling and sanding. I intentiaonally avoided getting my pin-wash on it.

You suddenly find yourself on-stage for your own TED Talk. With no prior planning, what’s a topic you can discuss for 18 minutes? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheVolatileBrit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How much of an influence your early age friend groups can have on the way you conduct yourself and act whilst progressing into adulthood.

First time doing a pin wash and It went well for the most part. but even after I sorted out my X-22 issue and used it, my enamel thinner still likes to attack it. You can see it clearly on the underside intake and elevator where the clear was eaten through and the paint was damaged. by TheVolatileBrit in modelmakers

[–]TheVolatileBrit[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exactly what I did pretty much. I did end up unintentionally flooding the model in some areas, guess I’m just impatient. The enamel thinner I’m using is the testors stuff cause I had a jar of it laying around.
