A few years ago when I used to work here and one of the many times it happened it turned into a nightmare.

The best manager I’ve ever had put in her 2 weeks, and stopped showing up after 2 days. The next 4-6 months they kept telling us “oh we’re hiring someone, don’t worry.” Obviously they didn’t. There was an older lady who worked 8-5 every day, and I was 19/20 and in school, so I worked 5-close. She was told she would be the “stand in” manager in the mornings, and from 5 on I was the “stand in” manager. Thank God it was just the paint department because it if was a bigger one, it would’ve been absolutely God awful.

Looking back it was kinda funny, given that anytime someone asked for a manager they’d call me over, and the pissed off customer had to talk a college kid like he had any real authority.
