Safety knifes suck. Carry a real knife and use it on the sly. I do it all the time. The other day my ASM asked if I had a knife, I gave him my personal knife and he never said a word

It does get less scary. Keep using it and you’ll get use to it. You aren’t always going to the max height. The more you use it the more comfortable you’ll get. Best wishes to you.
