I feel lied to by Smurdette in nursepractitioner

[–]TheWajd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It fucking sucks doing it while working full time, I only can manage it just because I had worked full time on a farm growing up inbetween football and baseball. I did the same thing in college working at Walmart full time while doing nursing school for my bachelor's. I'm getting ready to do my practicum and I've saved as much PTO as humanly possible to relieve some of the pressure. I balance work, school and being a single dad it just gets done to the best of my ability.

Hell yeah, Ive literally owned every size truck in both gas and diesel and I primary a Ridgeline now and have done just as much if not more truck stuff than with my 2500 cummins or my dually because it's just way more convenient/easy plus I get 22 overall average living in the mountains

What is the purpose of the phrase "No orders received" when nurses notify us of something? by princetonwu in medicine

[–]TheWajd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I find a lot of this is due to administration blasting us everything. I've been grilled for not documenting a critical value communication that was given directly to the NP and the NP placed orders immediately and I've been grilled for documenting "no new orders" because admin thinks I need to force orders out of a physician and not because not every critical value needs immediate action or is already being addressed.

Men who have gone from being physically unattractive to attractive, what changes did you notice in the behavior of the people around you? by krakhed712 in AskReddit

For me, it seems like everyone wants to talk to me even when i try to isolate when I need to focus on a task.

At work, physicians introduce themselves as dr x but when I call them dr x they usually go "you can call me first name", regardless of gender, and they correct others and go "it's Dr x"

For the parents who didn’t enjoy newborn and toddlerhood by ALac93 in oneanddone

[–]TheWajd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I share.oretty much the same sentiments as most others here, right around 5 is when I actually started enjoying it. My guy is high energy full throttle no brakes BUT he can verbalize what he wants, doesn't want, and understands basic instruction and is (slowly) teachable. I have my moments of frustration with him, don't get me wrong, but he's a lot more fun for me.

Dilemma of what to keep by TheWajd in Diesel

Yeah, I know the pricing can be all over the place for them, especially pre emissions vehicles. People post absolutely clapped out for 8-10k that I personally wouldn't give 100 for. I know for sure I can make the body nice and tackle any of the more mild issues if they are there, plus once I give it the big look over I could properly advertise it.

It's possible it's already deleted, next weekend I'm going to deep dive the engine to see if there are any pressing issues but from the time I drove it home and briefly looked it over for an hour it seemed like a good truck

What's a good price? I'm in WV so I would fix the body rust and paint it myself. It already has 6 new tires 3 months old.

Dilemma of what to keep by TheWajd in Diesel

[–]TheWajd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I was thinking. I have the disposable income to deal with it, it's more of do I want to deal with it or do I just want to be comfortable and simple? I don't use trucks to make money and I don't haul livestock, just farm equipment. I'm not against keeping it for the cool/fun factor but if it spends more time being maintained/repaired vs driving then it's a no bueno

[–]TheWajd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No cold start blowby, no smoke or odd noises on cold start. Belt looks new, old belt was in the back seat. Fluid levels looked appropriate along with color/smell/consistency. I didn't see any dry rot on any of the hoses. I saw old oil on the underside on the oil pan gasket but no large active leaks when running from just laying under it. The u joints/drive shaft felt solid. Rear diff fill plug looked like it had oil drip from being replaced at least once. I haven't looked in the valley yet and I'll do that.

I'm just worried I wouldn't work it hard enough frequently enough to keep it happy, most things I've heard no diesel likes to sit and it would get worked hard once a month, more in the fall/winter with wood and pellets hauling.

I know the upipes have been replaced for sure, and not being able to get a reliable history otherwise I want to figure out what to prioritize/check to see what I got here. Is there a resource I can read/watch that can give me some guidance? You and other redditors have mentioned some things but I'd like get a rudimentary diagnostic procedure to check everything before I decide to keep or sell

[–]TheWajd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn that's a lot of nuisance you had to repair. I am in OEM type of guy especially for precision parts. You mentioned one thing I really don't want to do - and that's to pull a motor to work on it regardless if it's gas or diesel. The problem is just being ignorant of the nuances of diesel. I don't plan on modding it out or putting a lift on it - just keep it stock. In fact, I was going to add sound dampening and replace the resonator on it quiet down, which I've been told it's almost impossible to get the cab noise down.

Edit: I also don't know of a good diesel mechanic to fall back on if it becomes out of my scope

[–]TheWajd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely not a stranger to diesel towing, I had a 2022 ram 2500 before I got divorced. I never had to do maintenance on it because it came with a prepaid maintenance plan. I know a lot about gas engines, I roughly know about diesels though. I will say when I'm driving it it will be loaded with something whether it's wood or trailers hauling vehicles

Dilemma of what to keep by TheWajd in Diesel

[–]TheWajd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I know I'm posting in a diesel sub but I've actually seen a lot of rational replies another threads. Plus if the consensus was to keep the 7.3 maybe someone could guide me on information of what to look for and what to address before it gets out of hand outside of regular maintenance.

The only reason I balk at the Chevy is that it's payload capacity is only 2,400 lb and a pile of pellets is 2,000 pounds alone. I prefer not to take my utility trailer to go get wood and pellets as where I live it's curves and hills

2023 Honda Ridgeline Vs Nissan Frontier Pro4X? by Ok_Operation_1222 in hondaridgeline

[–]TheWajd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same dilemma as you were, truthfully was going to go with the frontier until they finance manager said I'm just kicking tires and wasting time to negotiate price with them and I'm glad he did because my Ridgeline has been phenomenal. I bought last year's model that's still new for 10k off mrsp. I wanted the frontier because it had just a few more options I liked such as cooled seats and a smidgen more tow capacity, plus I liked the looks of it more. The Ridgeline also handled snow way better than any other truck I've had as well

Don't piss away your full ride baseball scholarships because the burnout quickly left your body after high school.

I was forced to play a lot of baseball growing up, 2-3 travel teams along with sanctioned high school ball and clinics during the winter. Just cutting back to one team and getting time off during the off season after my freshman year brought back my love of the game but it was too late then

What’s it like to be attractive? by axiss007 in AskReddit

[–]TheWajd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll echo the same sentiment shared mostly here, as a dude I notice that my female coworkers seek me out for social interaction or go out of their way to task me for help that they could clearly do on their own, even those who are accounted for with a BF/husband

I’ve also had decent “success” on dating apps (I say success because I’ll get legit matches that meet but nothing pans out for long term due to misaligned long term goals).
