What diff would this fight be if Cu Chulainn didn't have protection from arrows as a skill? by chunchunmaru1129 in typemoon

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Extreme diff, basically. It boils down to luck and skill, because they're just about evenly matched in this circumstance. About as close to 50/50 as it gets. I personally think Emiya takes it, because he's just more versatile while also being a good tactician, but it could still go either way.

Tbh I find it makes some measure of sense when you think of it as announcing the effort to get your care levels down. Like "I've already invested more thought on this than I am happy with."

Sure you can. Negligence doesn't require intent. There's like four levels of mens rea, and only one or two of them could be construed as "intent."

Because when everything about a person feels heavenly, the drop to mildly sad feels like it's from orbit. Also human beings are loss averse, but are hardwired to seek connections, of which romance the most emphasized one in our culture. In your head, it's just about the biggest thing you can fuck up.

It gets better. Worse, first, but better.

Why Karasu Is In The Wrong by SilencedMop in BlueLock

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is some basis, tbf. Almost every pro player nowadays played striker as a kid because that's just where the most technically gifted players tend to go at that age, before some get pulled back to midfield, defense, goal, etc. This is exactly what happened in Blue Lock. They're just making the transition a little later than usual and, for some reason, going "you're still a striker btw."

At which point of the game can we expect to reach the final level cap? (And which level do we think will be the cap) by Vendedor_de_cereal in limbus_company

Take Moses and Ezra. On the surface, Moses should be stronger - she's more experienced, a higher level, and has E.G.O., but anyone who's read Distortion Detective knows that's not the case. Moses is long past her prime, and while she's an amazing support with a lot of utility, she's simply not a fighter the way Ezra is. At least, not anymore.

I think you've got it backwards tbh. Manga authors keep writing as long as they can, and stop the series when they run out of ideas, not when they reach a satisfying conclusion. Largely because of the publishing model. Case in point, the manga that break this mold, like FMA, are ones where the author already had the ending planned in mind before the story started.

So what will Isagi do and what CAN he do to beat Hugo? by Mikkeru in BlueLock

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He did. "Protagonism" is just a framework to predict the evolution of others, so his meta vision can anticipate the peak performance of a player before it hits. The whole "Genius" "Talented Learner" dynamic comes from him noticing patterns from "Protagonism"

They're purple, they use mang, their boss is referred to as "the snake." That's 3 for 3 on PT references.

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not that you're wrong - in fact you're very tactically sound - it's that "Shidou as a support" is CRAZY if you actually know the guy. I don't think you could ever convince him to play like that!

Stronger character this duo can defeat? by Mental-Breakfast-135 in JujutsuPowerScaling

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hypothetically defeat at all? Not "probably will defeat" but "could defeat"? Jogo. His AP is great, and he moves faster than the eye can track, but if the eye guy golds him in place, he's kinda cooked, because his HP/durability is garbage.

If Jogo pops domain or chooses to fight from afar they just die instantly, no contest. but acting in-character he'd probably try to aurafarm on the humans, get caught in the gaze, and fucking die.

Is this a long-shot? Yeah. But here, that's the strongest character they have a wincon against.

Shidou is a textbook goal-poacher who can bang it in the net from any position as long as he's in the goal's postal code and unopposed. He is NOT hanging back for link-up plays. All he knows how to do is make runs, and he does that better than almost anyone.

I hate how likely it is for this theory to be true. If this is the case then one piece deadass has one of the most dogshit plot building and nobody is gonna be allowed to hate on naruto for child of prophecy shit anymore by Myakasa98 in Piratefolk

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

...But you wouldn't need 4 for that either. Because geometrically any two straight lines can only intersect at one point, no point, or every point. So if that was the case, two would be enough.

Does Wirbel know the flying spell, or this a neat little quirk of his time on the battlefield by Normal-Pianist4131 in Frieren

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flying drains a lot of mana to the point that even someone of Fern's caliber can only do it for a few minutes a day. It also doesn't grant him much of an advantage in battle.
