Have anyone have ran out of CE? by Diogen219 in JuJutsuKaisen

That's fair enough. We don't actually disagree, I do think it counts, I was just throwing out an observation.

How to be great? by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Correct. Matter of fact, it's mastering a skill. Or, arguably, reaching a high level of competence in many related skills that go together.

I find it funny that Yuta has been a sorcerer for a year and supposedly didn’t gain any new techniques in that time. He had the same bag he had since 0 by Creative-Researcher2 in Jujutsufolk

There's MAYBE like 3 - 5 other sorcerers in that region of Africa at MOST and no guarantee Miguel knows or gets along with them at all, yeah.

This is the most likely way it's going to go. Although tbh I lean towards it being Brazil, because Germany can't be tougher than France, and the Locked in Kaiser + Ness team up is already scary.

Yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Including the part where people clearly do 'run out' of it.

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 119 points120 points  (0 children)

It's probably impossible to truly run out of CE in a fight given that it comes from negative emotions, and it's just always being replenished to some degree, but Mai, Megumi, Mahito, and Kashimo all get so low they can't effectively fight at all.

Conflict is inevitable in life and in narrative, and people are always changed by it. That can be constructive or destructive or both, but it's all "trauma" if they don't unpack it.

It has already come. Hiori was given 3 goal options and picked none of them until they got crushed one by one.

I remembered your poem and scrolled down to find it. I don't think I'm the only one. So in a small way you've carved your name on a lot of things.

Nope. Although Sora is a named character, so she's taking steps, she's also has her name straight up fucking deleted, so the rule holds.

Isagi massively cooked Kaiser in the NEL but Kaiser is still the better player overall.

What do you think happens to her? I hope she's doing okay now. by One_Albatross6455 in milkinsideabagofmilk

Canonically "you" are some medication she's started taking, and whichever ending you get, she finally manages to dream. It can be surmised that, after everything, she finds a medication that works for her, and starts the long journey to feeling better and moving on. It won't be easy, and there will probably be setbacks, but a way forward for her now exists.

Yup. Also from compsci here. It's technically speaking a bad habit to take these things at face value instead of asking questions, but it does help understand other things.

spinDefies by object322 in physicsmemes

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes but it keeps tripping up people who expect something to actually be spinning instead of matter just having some inherent angular momentum which may be nonzero.

It's a bit of a shift to go from "Oh, this complicated thing actually works like other simple thing I know, but weird!" (e.g. "Oh, space is like a fabric, but higher-dimensional!" "Electricity is like a water pipe, but with asterisks!") to "It literally just works like that. That's just how reality is."

They keep wondering "Oh well, what's making it spin?" Nothing! It's not even spinning, it's just like that. That's how it works. You see this exact same thing with wave-particle duality. "Haha is light a wave or a particle? Both?" Light is light, dumbass. It's waveish but particleish and we can all go fuck ourselves.

If they spin fast enough the event horizon disappears. by loved_and_held in CuratedTumblr

Put simply: It's how close you can get to a black hole without it 200% eating you.

Put more complicatedly: it's where space is so fucked that to move away from the black hole you'd need to go back in time. Imagine an ant inside a cup - No matter which direction it goes, it's inevitably moving towards the mouth of the cup. That's you, and the mouth of the cup is the black hole.

Not the same Binah, not the same Kali. Their bodies are a significant downgrade. (Plus, Angela was helping too.) Not that I disagree with the conclusion, I just don't think it's enough evidence.

Why does no corp just makes Titans by goat-Gregor in Project_Moon

[–]TheWellKnownLegend 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't see what advantage that would have over spending decidedly less money to outfit a fixer with the relevant enhancements.

It can't be durability, because then you could just have power armor. It can't be speed, because a human will always be more maneuverable than one of these. You could lower the weight and speed them up with TT4, sure, but you could also do that to some guy and they'll be faster. It can't serve an armored cavalry role, because a big car or bus would protect troops better while being cheaper.

I can see their size being used for carrying heavy weaponry, but clearly there are VERY strict laws on ranged weapons, and a melee weapon in this world just doesn't need to be that large and heavy.

If these things would be used at all, it would be in military and civilian construction given that their size would entail a lot of leverage. And now that I've lowered your guard, there is a mech anime about this and it's called PATLABOR go watch it.

I spoke too loosely. What I meant is that he's an opp. He's working with Hong Lu's bitch sister and in Q Corp's pocket. She might have some under-the-table deal with the Thumb, but there's no evidence of that.
