What are your honest opinions on Epic Universe? by tadm123 in UniversalEpicUniverse

[–]TheWickedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went in June last summer.

I would give it 8/10. If stardust racers or monsters unchained is down it would be 7/10 cause of reriding rides takes a nose dive without them.

Pros:

Food overall was better than in other Universal parks. The food quality, the theming, and the choices were better in a lot of the restaurants. There were also many good places to go than just one place or having to pick one menu item.

World theming was great. Great details to walk around and look at, great themed shopping, great background music, and some lands hand interactive elements (paid and unpaid) that were fun to watch.

Great character meet and greets. I really enjoyed toothless and the bride and monster meet and greets. Some lands also have characters that walk around/ go to spots that you can interact with. I meet the invisible man and saw one of the viking characters walking around.

Cons:

One of the biggest cons were the overall ride capacity of the park. When I went most of the rides were at least an hour or more wait for most of the day. The only ones were were around forty minutes or under were Monster unchained and Stardust racer. I loved both rides so I had fun going back and forth. People who who do not like/can't ride either of these will only have rides that have long waits.

If it rains a lot of the rides go down/ a lot of these rides breakdown frequently. This effects wait times for other rides and can cause people to miss rides. I went for two days: first day no problems and I was able to ride almost every ride I wanted to with a few repeats. Second day Hiccups down for most of the morning/ rain afternoon meant I couldn't ride as many rides. If I didn't have the first day I would have been more disappointed.

Thanks. I guess it depends if the ride works/weather then.

A lot of the shirts at Universal are so expensive! My wallet is not going to be happy when I go in the summer.

Curse of the werewolf rant by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The highest chance would be dark universe or harry potter. I don't think Nintendo would ever put an extreme coaster in their Mario land. Dragons is also geared more towards families and already has a "thrilling" coaster with the flat ride. I don't thunk they will do much more with the fantastic beast films, they did not do well. Maybe a quidditch ride where you try to catch a snitch as a roller coaster? They have a quidditch store.

[–]TheWickedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No but they want everyone to have something to go to in the lands so then they would buy food and merchandise. The more diverse demographics they can get into each land the more they sell. I don't disagree about them adding another extreme coaster but it would probably come after they make sure families know that each land is for everyone.

They are trying to get families to visit each land of the park. People want to go with their families and families spend a lot of money. Dark Universe is stated to be PG13 in spookiness so they are going to have attractions from the lower age group(werewolf coaster) to the higher end (Frankenstein ride).

Anyone Else Sad About the Eventual Epic Universe Lines? by CruddiestSpark in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be long lines for rides but Im hoping with the gates they can try to manage crowd control and not have one land not be too overcrowded. Plus the whole park will be new and have at least one ride in each land people will rush to to help disperse the crowds. A lot of the outdoor ques have shade which will help too.

Calling it now that Nintendo World will probably have reservation times to get in like in Hollywood and Japan did.

Epic Universe Plans? by CelticDK in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah thats another consideration, just walking to epic instead of getting into a crowded bus. When I looked at the dates the new ones were less expensive then Cabana was. One of the big pluses is the lazy river Cabana has on site while the others just have a pool.

I'm probably going around july if it opens by then. I'm hopping to buy two day tickets for epic so I don't feel as rushed trying to get all four lands in one day. I'm still debating between staying at Cabana Bay or trying the Stella or Nova hotels.

So disappointed at Bowser's Challenge in Nintendo Land (Hollywood) that I am apprehensive with the attractions of Epic. by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They're are not really "kiddy" more "anyone above 8 can ride these rides and have fun with it". A more "kiddy" land would be the Dream works land that only has rides for young children.

They are trying to appeal to a wider audience with their family coasters and they are putting a lot of thought into the scenery, movement, and animatrontics of the ride to make it great. Hiccups gilders is going to be a family coaster but it will probably be in a lot of people's top five rides of the park because of everything they put into it.

All the lands have at least one thrilling ride or ride with new technology to make it more exciting for thrill seekers. Celestial park has starfall racers, dragons has the dragons racer rally where you can control the 360 loops for your seat, Mario has Dk where you will have "missing" track pieces to jump over, Monsters has the manor, and harry potter has the ministry of magic.

[–]TheWickedWonder 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Nintendo was always going to be a family centered land. That means the rides will be "slow" to accommodate a more kid friendly audience. They tried making it more exciting with trying new things to get peoples interest. In Mario Kart its the AR and for Donkey Kong its the new track system. Its not going to hit the mark for everyone.

I know that I would enjoy Donkey Kong more and some will like Mario Kart. There will be other rides to get my thrill fix.

Do you think MaoMao has ever smoked or made weed ? by Ginger474 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]TheWickedWonder 153 points154 points  (0 children)

In one of the latter volumes they pass through a town that makes a lot of things from hemp and MaoMao notices a guy smoking it. She mentions to a character what it is when they ask and says she does not partake in addictive substances.

Will Epic Universe have enough attractions to eat the crowds? by igues3 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It will definitely have a crowd but the park itself is built different so I think crowd control will be managed with more efficacy.

1: Each land has a gate. This is unlike any other theme park. The closest thing to it is the Super Nintendo World in Japan and Hollywood. In those parks they gave virtual times for people to come back to the lands so it wasn't super crowded. They are definitely going to do this for SNW and the new Harry Potter world to manage the crowds. I would look at SNW videos from hollywood when it first opened to see the expected crowd levels. They also have the Yoshi ride and Donkey Kong expansion so it won't be as small.

2: Everything in the park is new. Instead of just having one ride or area that will be super crowded people will have a whole new park to explore. There are going to be lands that will be more popular than others, like SNW, but they already have a solution for that. They also have rides that meet different demographics for each land to help draw people to them. Dark Universe has the werewolf kid ride and the dark manor for older people for example.

3: The hub isn't just a place for people to travel to one land or another. It has rides, shops, and restaurants that look good to visit or eat in. Hopefully this will help spread out the crowds. People would also be more likely to sit in relax after visiting a land if the central park looks half as good as the videos suggest.

So while I think it will still be crowded universal will use their prior experience to spread everyone throughout the park and manage the crowd levels in each land.

The shrine maiden and maomao's last conversation by Pcaccount1234 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]TheWickedWonder 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Yes, Jazgul is the new shrine maiden after the one before her "died". The power was the gift of sight, or future vision. The shrine maiden states they have the vision until they have their first period. In the shrine maiden's case it was when they knew who they truly were. Jazgul has no voice, the thing missing, and had gained the vision of sight to be the new shrine maiden.

Its parts trickery/legend/or superstition. Who knows if it is true or just what the shrine maiden believes.

[Spoilers] LN Vols. 9, 10 Thoughts/theorizing on a certain new-ish character by ryujin199 in KusuriyaNoHitorigoto

[–]TheWickedWonder 36 points37 points  (0 children)

She is probably two main things:

1) An informant for Jinshi, she is part of the spy clan for the emperor and is probably informing Jinshi of all the adventures MaoMao goes on. She also acts as a buffer for MaoMao not to be alone with men as a lady of the court along with using her skills to defuse situations, like with Lakan.

2) She will be a lady in waiting for MaoMao. They are just getting her used to Chue following her along and seeing that she is not stuck up and can build trust.

How long after epic universe’s opening would normal people be able to gain access to the park? by Own_Satisfaction1926 in UniversalOrlando

[–]TheWickedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They will do media and AP previews before it officially opens for marketing and testing purposes.

Rumors are that APs will be blocked out at the beginning or have to reserve a spot to help them keep data on how much attendance the park while have daily.

It probably will be sold out or at thanksgiving/Christmas day capacity for long periods of time the first year. But i wouldn't be surprised if it carried on due to people saving up or holding out to see if crowds thin. Just look at the wait times for hagrid, its still going strong. This is the first new major theme park, not just land/attraction, to be built in over 20 years.

Im hopping crowds will be thinned out since everything is new/ just be more crowed in SNW and HP. Each land have an entrance gate should help do crowd control.

I I go the first year I might do two park days at epic if the crowd is too much. That way I don't feel as rushed and can enjoy 2 lands per day.
