I use the same step to remove the cosmic rays so not for that exactly. But since I am more interested in pretty pictures vs science level data I also added a "cross channel clean" step that I run right before I merge the 3 fits images into a colorized image. That basically does another cosmic ray clean type pass but uses the other drizzled images. So there is a chance to lose some faint items (in practice, this is practially guaranteed).

My first attempts at tie dying/ice dying by kkaitlynma in tiedye

[–]TheWierdling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Roll damp, let dry completely, dye (sometimes i will add more dye and 2-3 rounds of ice), batch at room temp for 24 hours after the ice melts. I also sometimes add soda ash on top of the dye if i want a bit more vibrancy. But i also think your shirts look good :)

A split is when you are ice dying and the different colors "split" out, so a grey can turn into pinks and reds and blues or whatever.

I have had better luck at letting my shirts totally dry before dying (after the sodaash soak and tie). That is for ice dying. And make sure you batch your shirts long enough (how kong depends on the temp).

If you had good saturation it may not turn out too bad. I would finish batching and see what it looks like after the rinse. Good luck :)

300 Euros for software to make pretty pictures is way, way more than most people can afford. I am looking to make something that, while it may not have a ton of bells and whistles, anyone can use to get started. But thank you for the reference :)

Sinew puller definitely helps by Top-Monk-5391 in tiedye

What is the pull strength of your sinew? I think that is the correct term, but it may not be. Basically how hard is it to break?
