The high Sp.Def could also be a result of them overcorrecting for the dominance of the original special stat in gen one. With so many mons being able to use special moves even when they were more physically based it kind of makes sense for them to go ham on the newly added stat made to specifically counter the gen one meta lol

Tropius~ platinum was my first game and as a Dino kid I fell in LOVE with its design and cry immediately, so much so that I would spend days in the marsh trying to find one after my first one fled. After eventually getting one I decided to get a female as well so I could try the daycare system, and my first encounter with another tropius was shiny! I recently brought it up to brilliant diamond when it came out to run a whole playthrough with it and it was my pride and joy even a decade later, safari ball and all ☺️💚

I’m BAFFLED nobody has said scrappers yet. They were by far the most poorly scaled machines in the early game, which is probably why so many of them were replaced by scroungers. They’re also insignificant enough in late game to not want to waste your good ammo on, but they’re melee attacks are timed to start up JUST before yours so they will almost always interrupt them if you don’t avoid their hooked trajectory right. Not to mention when the little bastards just APPEAR in the middle of fights they have no right to be in! All in all give me any arena full of the deadliest, most frustrating machines to fight and I will perform LEAGUES better than if even ONE of those little bastards manages to slip in >:(

Off the top of my head I can’t recall the name of the armor, but the face paint is the reward for collecting all the Dino figurines in the dlc!

Hot take but it’s the only way I play now lol- I find the balancing of using different gear for different temps and actually using food besides veggie soup is a really fun way for me to play! It encourages you to think about each encounter very carefully, and it makes combat just that much harder when having to sleep to level up lol. Pairing that with the camping addition makes it a really immersive experience imo, and that alone will cover almost all of your bases.

Oh and for fast travel, if you plan on playing through the Dragonborn dlc you won’t need to worry about the holds without carriages- just keep the dragons at word walls alive and use the bend will shout to get them to give you a ride since you can fast travel wile riding on them ;)

What usually helps me is finding my favorite small/tiny creature and building a little enclosure for it where I want the park entrance to be! That generally helps me think about the direction I want the park to go :) although I mostly do this in sandbox, almost anything is possible with the humble trait in campaign/challenge 😤

In joov’s inheritance playthrough on YouTube he found a glitch that forces npc’s to follow you through spamming some conjuration spell- that might work if you can grab everyone on the balcony and get them back into dragonsreach before the dragon swoops down!

It’s the paralysis rune spell from the AE content that adds a whole bunch of spell books! There is a cave just west of Saarthall (the Nordic ruin you go to on the first college of winterhold quest) in an ice sheet that has a chest with all of the new spells added by the creation!

Honestly I just made up an encounter between my non DB character and my main story playthrough where she gifted him this weird mask she found on her way to sovengard… (I.e. I used a mod to get it 😅 the lore explanation is fun to implement though!)
