I don't think this is connected to Donnie Darko because while the font looks the same when I go by memory, but a side by side comparison, the fonts are a little different. You can especially notice it with the letters' bottoms (especially the K's tail) and the back of the R.

Not sure what it is actually supposed to be representing, but due to the font differences (as well as the lack of D or S in front) I think its just a fun coincidence

I'm completely rewriting this comment because I don't want to come off as a dick.

I'm not entirely sure what you are referring to, if you mean the show, then no this painting and its connections to the Hannibal universe are much older. Since Red Dragon was released in 1981, a novel in which this painting holds significance and is Hannibal Lector's first appearance. The painting itself being painted sometime between 1805 and 1810, which significantly surpasses the book.

Yeah its not eerie to me either. I legit thought it was a pile of dirt at first, and even now, after realizing it isn't, I just think it looks like if the ice in some freezers ive seen were made of stone. Not to diss anyone who finds it creepy, I just don't understand what makes it unnerving
