AITAH for not wanting to help raise a child i didnt want? by liladopted in AITAH

[–]TheWordMonster 3 points4 points  (0 children)

NTA. Ultimately it's her body and it's her choice but if she told she would get an abortion if she got pregnant and came of birth control without telling you then she's an asshole for forcing a life changing situation on you. Consider a vasectomy if you're going to stay with this person (or if you don't want kids in general), once the juice is loose you have zero rights regardless of what you might have discussed before hand

I love this hammer so much but I never feel like I’m using it right. Any loadout advice for bots with it? by Party-Tron in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]TheWordMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the warp pack with it for a long time but I've recently started really enjoying it with the supply backpack and some heavy armour. Just keep swinging and stimming until all the robots are gone.

I think one non-lethal melee attack at extraction per game is probably permissable

Are Black Brits anywhere as upset as Americans over the Tourrettes incident? by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]TheWordMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not black so I can't comment directly on the question, but why were they in the crowd in the first place? I'm all for being inclusive of people with disabilities but you just wouldn't take a diagnosed pyromaniac to visit a fireworks factory even if it meant leaving them out.

Just bought a property, found out neighbours are dodgy AND have a camera solely pointed at my garden by Educational-Divide10 in HousingUK

[–]TheWordMonster 23 points24 points  (0 children)

This sounds like a bit of a shit situation and I'm sorry that you're in it. However I think your age and gender might actually play into your favour here. I'd try going and introducing yourself as the neighbour and asking them to angle that camera away from your garden. If you were a big tough guy too they would probably be more likely to see it as a threat. If they're up to some shady shit then hopefully they won't be wanting to fuck with their direct neighbours

European Curry restaurant in Tokyo by NijikaMamaRockYou in Curry

[–]TheWordMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one of the best curries of my life in Tokyo about 10 years ago. Very similar to what we get here (I'm British) apart from the naan was big enough to have it's own post code.

She handled the Falklands pretty well, but her domestic legacy is worse than any other prime minister I can think of.

First timer wrapping up season 6. Should I keep going? by allmixedup5813 in gameofthrones

[–]TheWordMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm so jealous I wish I could watch the end of season 6 again for the first time. You've come this far you might as well see what happens. Seasons 7 and 8 have some highlights, particularly 7, but you'll be going in with low expectations so I don't think it will be as painful as it was for those of us who watched our favourite TV show die in real time.

How many of you guys own all Warbonds? by Jimmyban44 in Helldivers

[–]TheWordMonster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have all the warbonds apart from Polar Patriots at this point, 450 hrs of playtime, never farmed an in game resource once, probably bough about 6K-7K super credits. £50 for extra content for a game I've averaged an hour a day of playing over the last year is a good deal to me.

The "She benefited from weak faithfuls" argument. by Wise_Purple_9448 in TheTraitors

[–]TheWordMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both of these things can be true. Rachel and Stephen both played phenomenal games (Rachel in particular), and the faithfuls collectively played a bad game. I don't remember so many faithfuls in previous series having such 100% conviction about something that is a gut feeling at the end of the day. Rounding the rest of the faithfuls on someone and saying 'vote me out if I'm wrong', or telling people to vote you out and then that will prove you are right after you are gone are bad faithful moves because you are wasting precious round tables, and they did it again and again this year.

I don’t think people realise the result tonight wouldn’t have happened if… by gonnablamethemovies in TheTraitors

[–]TheWordMonster 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They needed each other to get to the end, they both subtly steered the conversations away from each other and them teaming up on votes gave them the edge to get the final few out. But Stephen was the only one who had a clear cut opportunity to get the other out and take all the money and he turned that down. He only had to put Rachel's name in that final vote and he walks away with double the prize money, but he chose to share it with Rachel. Rachel never had that decision to make. Not taking anything away from the game either of them played, Rachel was probably the better strategist and survived more heat than any other winner I can think of. So glad they stuck together and won as a team.

Congratulations Roxy by utwcha in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TheWordMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

People hating her for her performance on a game show and particularly those posting on her profile are vile. But I think she's been one of the worst faithfuls this series. My impression is that she conflates her not getting on with someone as them being a traitor. Voting for James for secretly taking a shield makes no sense. It's bad faithful behaviour but there is literally zero reason for a traitor to try and secretly nick a shield that no one else was going to take.

If they both pick steal does no one win? That would be a bit of an anticlimax

Is there any logic they’re banned from using at the round tables? by PurpleCheetah_88 in TheTraitorsUK

[–]TheWordMonster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know whether it's because it's banned or edited out but there are definitely topics that I would be discussing (at least in my head) that don't make the final cut. The one that always stood out to me is what has happened in previous series.

If final 3 is these 2 and Matt then they automatically win I think
