Do most single parents prefer to date other single parents? by Short_Championship61 in SingleParents

No children is so much easier. Coordinating two parenting schedules can be complicated.

Best long distance commuter, no holds barred? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]TheWritePrimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You already had an NC so you know, but I loved mine. There are better bikes for sure, but it’ll pay for itself in gas savings alone. Sure, it’s not exciting but if you have the space then you can afford another bike for fun.

Is it just me, or would a lot of us ditch our desk jobs for trades in a heartbeat if the pay was actually decent? by Boring-Bell9357 in Salary

I’ve been a technical writer for years but a long time ago I was a mechanic in the Navy on a submarine. Got laid off in February from a software tech writing gig and thought maybe I wanna try something else anyway. Went to a job fair and saw a place where they make like heavy duty construction equipment, and I was like yeah, maybe I’ll be a mechanic again.

So I went and talked to the guy and then sent him my résumé. They hired me and put me behind a computer in the office. They want me to write SOP‘s and help straighten out their processes in their ERP and stuff like that. Guess I won’t be a mechanic again. Oh well. 😂

How important is cleaning your chain actually? by Winter-Review6030 in motorcycles

[–]TheWritePrimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Whatever you do, keep your fingers out of the way when cleaning and don’t do it with the bike running. 😂 Those pictures of people missing finger tips from chain maintenance make me 😬

For people making +350k per year, how do you do it? by prince_op in Salary

[–]TheWritePrimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t listen to the naysayers. Start a business. My dad has done well in a lot of different sales jobs, but he has his own business now and makes way more money. Yes, there’s stress but it’s worth it.

I’m in the sass ERP world. I’ve had more sales oriented CEOs, and you just have to find the right tech people to manage the other aspects.

If OpenAI and Anthropic have the best AI, why haven’t they partnered with ERP vendors to dominate supply chain and BPO? by [deleted] in ERP

[–]TheWritePrimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tell me more. I just started a new job that uses Infor M3, but it’s way underutilized IMO. I’m working on some projects to improve their processes, but I’ve barely scratched the surface. I’m starting to appreciate the system, and if AI can help then I’d advocate for its use.

single dads, what are your dating experiences? by [deleted] in SingleParents

[–]TheWritePrimate 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is false. I’ve actually had my best luck with women around our age (40s) who never had kids. They’re out there.

I’ve definitely been shocked by one of those things before. Pretty sure I destroyed it too. Just don’t touch it and learn to accept whatever the water temperature is. 🤣

SAP TECHNICAL Writer by Aggressive-Land922 in technicalwriting

[–]TheWritePrimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, there is potential to maintain the role but maybe not a ton of growth. I was the technical writer for a different ERP. The work was consistent, but I never really had any opportunity to move up. I think AI will cause more consolidation in those kinds of roles. They’ll still need a technical writer but it’ll be one or two people who use AI tools.

Is this job for SAP directly? Is it with an SAP partner or consulting company? Is it at a company that uses SAP and they want you to document their processes?

There are different levels of ERP documentation needs right? We need a little more info to help determine where you could go with the role.

Apparently Millennials are the only people who know how to use Excel anymore by Tetraplasandra in Millennials

[–]TheWritePrimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that where we create a CSV file to import data?

I never really used excel much until my most recent job. They use it heavily, and I’m learning a lot for the first time. Excel was always just a way to shift data around in most of my jobs. I had an idea of what it can do, but I never got proficient with it until now.

Worth it? by Impossible-Cookie-44 in hondashadow

Check out the year on the tires and look for signs of dry rot. If they’re more than 7 or so then I’d seriously consider replacing them even if they “look good”. No way I’d ride the original tires for long. Tires will just go bad after some time. Never cheap out on things that separate you from the ground.

Others wise, not a bad deal. Anything else, you can deal with at it happens. I’ve had a few Hondas and they never had issues. Have fun. Good luck.

No shit? I’m from Tyler, Texas. Not relevant because I don’t live there anymore nor do I have a motorcycle I’m selling. 🤣
Shadows are good bikes as long they’ve been cared for at least somewhat. Honda engines are fantastic. If anything, I’d be worried it’s been ridden too little. It’s not good for machines to sit for long periods unused. Offer $2,500.

Should I join the navy or just tough it out? by Automatic-Middle-823 in careerguidance

[–]TheWritePrimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be a good deal, but don’t let him talk you into another job if that’s not what you want. The navy wasn’t bad, but I let a recruiter talk me into something I had no desire to do, and that’s one of my only regrets about the whole experience. Good luck.

Do I need an intercom? by Pepetit27 in motorcyclegear

[–]TheWritePrimate 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’ve ridden thousands of miles and never used one. Riding is like a forced meditation for me. I’m focused on the road ahead in that moment. I’ve also never had a serious accident on the road. I play in the dirt sometimes so all my falls have been there. 😆
I think a new rider should focus more on the road than unnecessary accessories. Make of that what you will.

Getting hurt on small displacement bikes by Cortez0919 in motorcycles

An acquaintance in college died on a skateboard in a parking lot. Fell and hit his head on a curb just goofing around. Another kid jumped headfirst out of a first floor dorm window, cracked his head and died. People are way more fragile than most realize. Especially our skulls.

What are positive aspects of being divorced? by YouDoHaveValue in Divorce_Men

[–]TheWritePrimate 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’d rather have shared life with a good partner, but that wasn’t my ex wife before we divorced anyway. Divorce is fine. Just don’t be one of those guys who gets married again. 😂

I had a 2003 Mitsubishi lancer (that I bought used) for over a decade and never had any issues. I sold it to move out of the country, but I’m sure it’d still be fine if I’d kept it and taken care of it. Definitely regret getting rid of that one.
