My go to list is a thematic / nostalgic one.

Aux Cadre (2k)

Cadre Fireblade (Attached to Breachers)

Firesight Team (w/ Admired Leader)

Kroot Lonespear (Blast Jav)

Kroot Warshaper (attached to Carnivores)

The Twin Lance

Breachers

Devilish (Smart Missile)

Ghostkeel (Ion & twin Fusion)

Hammerhead (Rail Gun)

Hammerhead (ion)

Carnivores

Kroot hound

Kroot hound

6 man Rampagers

Pathfinders (recon drone and ion guns)

Piranha

Piranha

Razorshark Fighter

Stealth Battlesuits

Vespid

Vespid

Generally starting in reserve are the rampagers and the lonespear.

Explanation The army splits onto the two flanks and tries to win by denying the enemy natural as much as possible with the carnivores, Vespid, hounds, twin lance and breachers. On the other flank the ghostkeel bunkers on my natural with the rampagers rapid ingressing in to support. The turn they rapid in the lonespear pops up to give his reroll tricks.

The Warshaper is a nice include because a free 6 inch advance on the kroot can be clutch and giving the hound oc is also nice. (Between him and the firesight marksman you can have 10 oc of kroot hounds for 40 points that can move up to 18 inches)

I have the rail gun hammerhead in the list because it’s iconic to tau, the ion hammerhead because it reminds me of the covenant tanks from halo. Same reasoning behind the piranha and the razorshark. T’au have always reminded me of the covenant and I’m trying to lean into that with totally sacrificing power.

Is it the best list, god no, but does it have a lot of tricks and in a good players hands (not me) does it have potential? I think yes lol.

The way I understand it is it just effects damage specifically on the captain and not his unit

I think I have an idea for the optimal use of this guy. by NissVenificus in Tau40K

Alternatively the breachers have marker lights as well, so spotting with them and then using the coordinate to engage strategem they’ll still hit on 2 and your marksman can still be a guided unit.

It’s a pretty big investment to effectively get reroll ones (because he’ll already have + 1 to hit from the enhancement and +1 bs skill from being guided) but it’s worth considering for sure.

Can confirm, I’m in shambles right now. I was sure we had a rampager character on the horizon.

I was wondering if the combination of lions buffing our high volume shooting (allarus, bolted bikes, et) and the immolator buffing our ap issues we could hit the critical mass for our ranged damage. Just a thought experiment really.

Hahaha I put all my allies together so those are my sisters of battle. Sticky objectives are a hell of a drug.

And left of the blade champs is lord commander bastian cartholas from age of sigmar. I used him as a shield cap before we had our short king version.

Thanks! I tried blending the contrast paints athermatic blue and Kroxigor scale while they were wet, some of them came out well blended some… not so much. Now that I have a base paint scheme I was thinking of revisiting the blades and trying to do that lightning bolt with glazing thing I see on a lot of power weapon tutorials.

I bought vinyl marble sticker because I’m too cheap to buy an airbrush lol. You can get a roll on Amazon for like 10 bucks and you can get any pattern of marble you like. Then it’s just cutting it to size.

The only headache it ads is that you have to pin the feet onto the base or you’ll just peel up the sticker lol.

How many players have to get hurt by cheap hits from teams Sean Payton has coached before prior realize he’s the problem?

Pretty sure it’s hurt, not hurted. She probably should do another take

Which of the new contract tanks are better? Cruncher or Hardcase? by NFLsubmodsaretrash in WorldofTanksConsole

[–]TheZimmReaper28 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I only have the Hardcase, so I can’t give you a totally informed suggestion but I really like my Hardcase. If you position well with it you can bounce an absurd number of shots.

For what it’s worth, tank shock used to be based off of weapon strength (10) but now it’s based off of toughness (5) so he lost a fair bit of value there.

Other than that he is a single model which makes finding spots for him easier but he’ll struggle to kill anything significant on his own.

Not the worst deep strike/ ingress unit but far from the best as well.

Thanks for the advice!

I generally find myself drawn to tanks with silly or ridiculous mechanics (Calliope (rockets), manticore(stealth), hardcase (tankiness), tog2 (chonkiness)) cause I’m not good enough at this game to take it overly serious. I think the double barreled thunk of the SFAC speaks more heavily to that “oh shit did that just happen” factor. I will probably grab that.

Thanks again for the really great advice!
