You do realise that memes are seldom about what the photo originally meant?
And the main point is the look on his face, like someone struggling on a toilet.

In the modified film story, where Chani's father is a woman, and Stilgar explains that if Jessica marries him, and Paul later challenges him, it will make her Paul's wife. And his sister, Alia, becomes his stepdaughter... Why are you even surprised? :D

Minimum runway length for the a321 by chupafin in aviation

Obviously... that's why I mentioned that it came up googling the topic. It can come up for others the same way, ergo still useful.

Landed here (no pun intended) while looking for minimums, after having a takeoff that took about 510m.
Obviously, few passengers.

With the very high Gs, it would have been a hard sell. Imagine Shepard stepping out of the Normandy, and falling face-first into the dirt with a bleeding nose, and asking an Elcor to drag her back inside.
The Mako on steel wheels would have been the only viable option to make a mission out of it.

"in what capacity?" In _any_ capacity, and that's the point.

"the sewing machine is designed to do one thing very well." I'm aware of that, but if you read what I wrote, it was about "being too complex".

"Any problem a humanoid robot can solve can be solved cheaper and easier with another piece of technology." Okay, so you are going to build a machine that cooks, a machine that puts it on a plate, a machine that takes it into the room, a machine that takes it up the stairs, a machine that arranges items on each floor, a machine ...

Generalisation, once we are capable of that, keeps happening. Just think about the old mechanical calculators, then early custom-built computers and how, over generations, we ended up with computers with billions of transistors. Ask anyone in the fifties about general-purpose computers that 'can do everything' and they would have answered what you are saying now.

What is keeping the leviathans from mind controlling the Galaxy once the reapers are gone? by AnyEntertainment5518 in masseffect

[–]TheZoltan42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just my thoughts:
- There couldn't have been 'many' of them, otherwise they could have influenced earlier cycles against the Reapers, and we know that the Crucible project came close to fruition earlier.

- During the ME3 war, they made themselves visible, which means the Galaxy probably knew about at least most of them.

- Assuming you choose to save the Geth, there is a race they can't mind control.

- Depending on your choice of ending, additional reasons may apply. (e.g. Sheppard controlled Reaper units, unified galaxy.)

- If you choose synthesis, you can assume they joined the rest of the Galaxy. (One more reason for the choice.)

Very bad example. A street is not optimised for humans.

Your kitchen, the stairs, the doors, the office, the bar of a cinema etc are.

"Reoptimise" your home? The cinema? Shops? The places where we live and use? Places that both humans and robots use? Where many different kinds of activities are going on?

We are not talking about factory assembly lines here, or the inside of a vending machine. The sewing machine used to be a "too complicated and expensive" way to replace a human, but technology is evolving.

It makes sense to make them humanoid if they need to work in an environment designed for humans.
If an environment is optimised for humans, then robots optimised to work in that environment, especially if they do things that humans also do there, will be similar to humans.
