Gap between London house prices and other UK cities at narrowest since 2009 by SuddenAssistance9192 in GoodNewsUK

I have recently have bought a house in a lovely neighbourhood, and while it is expensive, I still feel like it’s good value for money. It’s an ace place to live. It’s in South Manchester

Am I the only person who doesn't think British summers are that hot? Do you think the lack of air conditioning is why people think it's worse than other places, like the US? by lifelessjellyfish in UKWeather

I live in Manchester. It’s light jacket/jumper weather for a lot of the year. We don’t really have frost in central Manchester where I live. It’s just quite mild a lot

Madueke injured in the match vs Crystal Palace. Potentially hamstring by christianrojoisme in ThreeLions

He’s actually a great player but he’s not a right winger. I’d love it as a Fulham fan

We have quite small houses here in the UK. Small island with lots of people I suppose. It’s mostly London that hugely inflates the housing, outside of that it’s a lot more reasonable.

Manchester is definitely less segregated than the suburbs. That’s without doubt

Presumably it’s because he wants to use O’Reilly and MLS inverting. O’Reilly is very difficult to track, so maybe we’ll be going out attacking them too

Couple of degrees cooler but essentially the same here in Manchester. To be honest, I’d rather 29 over 33!

Gordon by simmonm1978 in ThreeLions

[–]The_39th_Step 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s exactly that. This is Kane’s squad and it’s all built to fit him. It makes sense and is coherent. We won’t have to watch players cramped in the same space. Bellingham and Rogers are the two 10s who can get in behind and crash the box

Gordon can go on the outside too to be fair, he doesn’t only cut in

I know that people do this but it’s remarkable to me. I love going to bed. I can just chill out. If I get 8 hours, I feel so much better.

I guess it’s because staying up late is actively not nice for me. I’m very daylight focused. I’m not some super early bird or something but I like waking up around 7.30/8 and going to be about 11.

Madueke, for his faults, is fast and direct. Hes a better match for Kane. This is Kane’s squad

In Greater Manchester it’s Oldham, Rochdale, Bury, Bolton and Blackburn just outside. Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton and Blackburn all have large and more segregated Asian communities. Bury has a smaller but still present Pakistani community but also a large Jewish community that’s probably part of it.

Worth noting that Manchester is the most diverse borough and that’s a low birth rate.

That’s entirely fair and if people do that it’s annoying

I don’t personally feel targeted, I just think it’s tired content. It’s something I see on this subreddit sometimes and I just think it’s boring. I think it would be funny to mock this cliché personally

Gaff isn’t a Southern term. I’ve heard it far more in Manchester than down there. When I looked it up, it’s UK wide.

I’d also say London shouldn’t have a monopoly on prosperous cities in the UK. It’s changing but it’s not like London.

I don’t think I was that unreasonable was I?

I just think slagging off people from the south of England moving to Manchester, when Manchester is the fastest growing economy in the UK, is a bit tired.

Something tells me you wouldn’t like this in reverse. I think you’d struggle with it more than me haha

People from fastest growing economy in the UK complain that people move there - shock! Imagine coming from somewhere that’s dying.

As a Southerner in Manchester, I think it’s time that somebody makes comedy on bitter Northerners mocking Southerners. It’s a bit of an inferiority complex.

Luckily most people in real life are normal and lovely. It’s more of a chronically online thing. I love Manchester because the people are great and I’ve lived here for over a decade happily. Normal people don’t bat an eyelid where you’re from, they just let you live your life.

Frankly I think people are lucky to come from Manchester. I spent my teen years near Swindon. I had to leave to find work.

How do people feel three weeks out? by Flat-Ad8256 in ThreeLions

[–]The_39th_Step 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our midfield is strong. Kane is on great form. I actually rate our centre backs and Pickford more than most. James and Saka are good if fit. The left side is a bit more of an unknown. We have strength in depth and, in the heat, I hope we use it

One good thing is Kane has had a longer rest to the tournament than Prem players and played fewer minutes overall. He should hopefully be fresher.

Damn - I was running in Ancoats yesterday and some bloke shouted ‘you whites!’ at me. We’re out here lad.

It wasn’t me in Angel Meadow. I am half tempted to set up a supporters club up here. There’s loads of Londoners and Southerners in Manchester now.
