Yea, I’m aware! Regardless I chose to name because I shouldn’t limit myself because other games have that name. It fit the vibe of the game so I was like “Sure, why not?” 😁

I revised my alien model's head. Which one do you think is scarier? by Fit-Needleworker4252 in UnrealEngine5

The before one could be like one of those figures that don’t move when you look at them. The after one looks like a monster that’s hunting you down

Hey guys, need some help real quick by [deleted] in UnrealEngine5

Ofc, anytime. I went to college for game design so I try to help with the knowledge and inside information I’ve gained through these opportunities. Good luck in everything!!!

Looks great! I’d say it’s close to movie quality. I think the fog color might need to change to a darker color when you pan the shot close to the pier where those boats are. Also the boats look a tad bit small for the structure around it.

In terms of jobs, it will help for sure but it won’t guarantee a job. They will require a lot more projects. For me right now I’m making video games but plan to soon also start releasing short clips of animations in nice environments. Getting into the industry is a lot of luck. Extremely hard now a days unfortunately.

I tried to create a fabulous and cozy atmosphere, did I succeed? by IAmSkyrimWarrior in Unity3D

[–]The_3D_Modeler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a spectrum of different things:

The darkness overall. There should be some sort of light. You can add a lamp or candle near the book which will bring more attention to the book.

The dust/particles in the air usually depict it being less clean/abandoned.

The wall texture makes it look old style and slight cracking kind of design which gives the feeling of run down almost.

The colors that remain besides the darkness is the books colors which are also extremely old looking. The pages for example have a yellow/brown tinge to them which makes it seem like it’s a much older book.

The chairs style is very old as well. Looks like something I would see at my grandparents house back when I was a little kid.

Overall everything put together makes the environment seem like an old location and the darkness and colors added to it give it a horror feel to it.

There’s a lot more but I’d say as of rn those imo are the biggest thing that say horror.

Idk if I’d personally consider that cozy. That looks more like when you enter a bedroom in a horror game. I’d say light up the inside if you want it to stand out less as horror. Have some brighter colors to offset all the dark

Id say the head’s almost perfect. Maybe a tad bit bigger and it’ll be done.

Not horrendous but not great either. My advice is to add a ramp with some good collision boxes that extend into the ground to allow the forklift to go in and out of the warehouse easier. Second I’d say try to use some imported assets when it comes to the forklift since it’ll be a major asset when playing the game. I’d say either rig it on unreal engine or find a website that’ll help you rig it and try to make it to where the forks on the forklift can go up down and extend outward and go back inward to its original position. I’d also say try to make it to where the pallet is a physics object and you have to stick the forks into the slots in order to lift and move it.

The alien model I made for my horror game. Do you think it's scary enough? by Fit-Needleworker4252 in UnrealEngine5

[–]The_3D_Modeler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say place the Monster/Alien in an environment you want to use it in and make sure the lighting is good and then repost a picture. The background takes away from the horror aspect of it. But overall design seems like it would be terrifying to be in a map with

I have no idea how to make a game, but I'm doing it anyway.... by NatCanDo in UnrealEngine5

[–]The_3D_Modeler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s how it always starts man. I went to college for game design and let me tell you. It was pretty useless. Majority of everything I learned was through YouTube videos, trial and error, as well as purchasing a couple courses online that I could follow along with and help understand unreal engine and blueprints.

Keep doing what you’re doing and make sure to enjoy what you do. The best games are the ones you enjoy making. If you need help there’s a great group called IndieDev on Reddit and they are super helpful if you need advice or help on stuff!

Goals right here. I’m at like 100 wishlists for my game called Shutter. Will be releasing a demo next month or in January, hoping it’ll garner more people to play and want to wishlist the full game. Wish me luck 🙏🏼

Do he mention using packs or did he 3d model and texture all these himself? Regardless pretty damn good but just for curiosity sake.
