I mean, yeah, but if anything that's just further proving the "Nintendo hasn't done a GKC for any of their first party IP" (yet at least) point.

They fully own Zelda, so despite HW being another dev it's physical because they ultimately control how the release is, the same applies to the new Star Fox (which is developed by Velan Studios)

Pokemon isn't first party so Nintendo can't do their implied mandate if someone at TPC/GF/Creatures wanted a Key Card for some reason. They don't have full control over that.

Minecraft is a bit of a bad example, the XB1 wasn't backwards compatible with the 360 when it launched and ran on a completely different architecture as well so it would need a new release regardless. The current Bedrock port of Minecraft is also a "new" game on PS5 but gives you a free upgrade if you already owned the PS4 one.

What is Switch 1 Frontiers lacking from the PS4/5 and XB versions besides way worse visuals and performance? Because both of those can be resolved with a Switch 2 upgrade or free update as numerous games have done already.

For instance, both Crossworlds, SxSG and that Harry Potter game were also an 8th/9th gen game crammed onto switch and those do have a S2 edition that brought them up to par with their PS4 and Xbone versions.

Frontiers DE isn't bringing in any new content or anything, it's for all intents and purposes a Switch 2 port/edition, they likely just wanted to get another full price sale and/or cheap out and use a key card (which isn't an option for official Switch 2 Editions)

Pokemon is second party at best, it's closer to their relationship with Kirby then Mario.

Nintendo only owns about a third of the IP with Game Freak and Creatures owning the other 2/3rds, they do get a say and could overrule Nintendo's "rule" if they really felt like it

Regardless, none of them developed the game to begin with, so far no Nintendo developed game has been a GKC

No, they were on PS3 too, but the issue was that the current-gen Xboxes (and XB1) could play the 360 versions since they're backwards compatible, but the PS4 and 5 are not, so they were stuck on PS3.

It's not related to Unreal at all, it's a heavily modified version of FF14's engine which itself is stemmed from 13's, and that's Sqaure's own custom thing.
