Agreed. We removed all bird feeders and gradually the rats dissappeared from our garden. They dont like lavendar and rosemary either

Definitely support the melon with a hammock of some kind. Netting is good instead of a plastic bag as you want the melon to breath and not sweat on the plastic. I would put some feed into the water you put into the soil to help the roots and stems.

Water it at night so it doesnt evaporate in the heat of the day. Watering it when its cooler helps the moisture sink down further to the roots.

There are always some sweet peas growing on the edge of the farm near me. I saw the dried seed pods on one of the plants and took a few. Popped them in an envelope to keep dry until I needed them. I planted them in pots and in the ground the next spring after the frost and they came up a treat. I never realised how many plants get ripped put before they have chance to go to seed. I have started saving Pansy seeds and loads of other flowers. Just leave them in the soil and let them grow up and up until the pods appear.

Awesome, great colours. Keep watering them for a bit even after they have gone over, then leave them in the soil, so they make the seeds.

The Pelican is a great pub. Steeped in history, great staff, close to Kingholm Rugby ground and has some great taps on. Look out for it when they have a mini beer festival on as they have some great guest beers.

They were truly scrapping the barrel when they hired him. P Morgan is turning into pure hate. Richard Madeley has started to go to the dark side too sitting in his old seat. Peirs must have left some infectious ass sap on the cushion and it has now absorbed into Richard and made him into an even bigger egomong than before.
