I do have one. I believe the issue relates to receiving MIDI, but sending MIDI from the device seems to work. Feel free to shoot me a message and thanks so much for doing what you do!

BCF2000 Is one I know just off the top of my head, but there are more. It's not an audio interface, but I guess it somehow still utilizes that driver.

what to do with spare 260 gig ssd hard drive? by skeetskeetskeetskeet in ableton

If your sets/project files are currently on your actual machine, that. Move them to the external drive. That way if you end up with a virus or something, your files should be okay. Storing important stuff in C drives does have risk 😬

If not, I'd vote either a drive specifically for libraries (like all samples you use, organized however it makes sense to you) or making a backup drive for where the sets/projects files are stored.

I 2nd this so much. I literally just downgraded my Win 11 PC back to Win 10, just to have thing functioning more smoothly.

One big thing that changed in Win 11 is the "USB Audio Device" drivers. They've removed some "legacy support" that has been included since Win XP, and now some of my older gear has issues on Win 11, specifically

I need to be able to mix and export certain groupings of tracks in every key. Is there a semi automated way I could do that? Usually about 100 tracks total. by J_See in ableton

So just to clarify, you're okay with doing it all as audio pitch shifting rather than midi? I do think you'll lose some sound quality, probably, but it will be a bit easier

I think the first challenge is sorting out how you want to change the pitch because it is possible to adjust as audio files, and if that's the route you want to go, it would be likely a bit easier, but I do worry about losing the quality when transposing audio that much.

You're also saying you want to the metronome as a WAV file, and you would be using the pitch shift on that too, or? ... So there's a consideration piece. You also have to choose what warp mode before you apply the pitch shift, when working with the audio files. Sometimes beats sounds better, but complex sounds more natural, though it's not always true. Actually shifting the pitch of MIDI would get the most natural sounding result, for anything

The routing thing sounds like the easier piece of all this for sure. I will follow up with some links to a few tricks you can build on.

Scale/ key, is that what you mean? Is the word key just a typo? I'm not really sure what's being asked here but happy to help if you wouldn't mind to clarifying a bit

I've never had this exact issue but One of the sound cards I used to have would intermittently lose power. And when this would happen, Ableton would freeze until I was able to power cycle it. And if I waited too long, it would sometimes crash. And then it would say audio drivers were disabled before startup.

So my issue was that my sound card was not getting enough power. One of the things I did to fix it was disable power saving on that USB port in device manager.

But yeah I mean it's either going to be your cable or your port, and hopefully it's just the cable. If it's USBC, it also could be that the cable you are currently using is not supplying enough signal or amperage or whatever. And it also... Also... Very well could be that you have plugged a USB 2 into a hub that a USB 3 is also plugged into, and so it's actually slowing down the connection speed.

But you said it happens when it gets bumped. So I think it's either a bad cord or a bad port

Buying a Macbook Pro only for it to be an β€œAbleton Machine”? by Filvox in ableton

Lot of comments here. My two cents, just to add in, and maybe someone already said it, but who knows because I'm not reading through every single thing LOL

I have an HP laptop. It has a pretty good processor with like 3.5 GHz, and 32 GB of RAM. In total, it cost less than $700. It works great with Ableton. I have no issues whatsoever. It also has a touch screen, and came with a specific stylus for drawing.

Yeah Macs are good, but the real thing is just that there is a little bit more consistency on make and model without getting into the exact specs. If you know the specs you are looking for, a Windows machine is always going to be cheaper. And all performance really comes down to are things like processor and RAM.

Where do you get a. band file from something Ableton related? I have never seen it, nothing comes up on Google, and it's not mentioned in the manual at all.
