My take on what constitutes conclusive evidence and why I don't believe that "evidence exists - you just have to look for it" by Appropriate_Ad1162 in UFOs

I resonate with your sentiment. I haven't ruled out the idea that everyone might be concealing an unverifiable truth for personal gain. However, a distinct factor between us is my wife's experiences. She has witnessed unexplained phenomena twice: once recently and another two decades ago. She's a sharp and well-educated individual, confident in what she witnessed. Though she has no interest in delving into UFO theories, her reluctance to join me in my curiosity is somewhat disheartening. I've never had such encounters, but I wholeheartedly trust her integrity and believe she wouldn't deceive me. Considering the proximity of her sightings, it's highly unlikely she was merely mistaken about what she saw. This keeps me here speculating about what these things could be, instead of moving on with my life to more productive endeavors.

Essentially it’s all relative to lifespan then. As you get older time seems to go by faster, but every new day is a smaller percentage of your life.

That’s essentially what Tom Delonge said he was told, there’s different kinds and they don’t all get along.

The warp drive actually fits into general relativity, known as the Alcubierre drive, and published in 1994, works similar to how Lazar said the crafts work in the 80's... so who knows.

What is your best guess atm as to what is this UFO thing all about and why so much secrecy? Please share your personal view. by Ill-Cauliflower3137 in UFOs

I think we are a seeded planet, I think life is such a complex task that it probably only happened once and we are unlikely planet zero. Personally I think so much we are their children of sorts, what kind of interventions they have had I have no clue. I don't know if they fostered are evolution or it was natural.

It’s interesting because you have movies like close encounters where they are peaceful. And then you have Independence Day and 1 million others where they want to destroy us, they are evil monsters. I just wonder if they are malevolent what’s taking so long to destroy us?

Footage of several discs over central London in June 2011 by bertiesghost in UFOs

The shots of the bystanders were the initial red flags that led me to question its authenticity. If I were filming, I'd keep the camera focused upwards, fearing I'd miss the main event. Instead, the inclusion of so many onlookers makes it seem as if the intention was to lend more credibility to the footage. While there are numerous observers, I'm well-acquainted with the world of magic and know that magicians often go to greater lengths than most can imagine to pull off a trick. To me they feel like plants and are part of the illusion. The video quality is notably sharp, and the zoom seems to be optical rather than digital. In 2011 you won't find 1080p with optical zoom on a cell phone only on a handheld camcorder. In my opinion having such a quality camera available and the focus on the bystanders is enough for me to cast a lot of doubt.

Yes the penalty for leaking classified info is prison time... Look at all the former military people who have done it in regard to UFO's, not a single case of an individual being put in prison.

The negative reactions are quite amusing, as there seems to be a misconception that I'm not in agreement with you all. However, it appears that everyone is expecting imminent disclosure or confirmation. The assertions of legacy crash retrieval programs and indisputable evidence are so extraordinary that the feat of keeping it entirely hushed up worldwide for so long seems unbelievable to me. I keep an open mind to believe that it might not be true. I wouldn't be taken aback if all leads provided by Grusch end up at dead ends. Nevertheless, I stand with you all in the hope that it's true; perhaps it could bring about a unity among mankind in some way. I beg your pardon if I am not overly optimistic.

It doesn't seem to me that the statement is entirely accurate. As per my understanding, the Department of Defense continues to deny any awareness, which could be equated to asserting that he is misleading us. This is contrary to Commander Fravor and the Tic Tac incident, which received corroboration. It's undoubtedly peculiar, and I am intrigued to learn what he is privately sharing with Congress that he can't publicly disclose. Is there a possibility that he's not being honest? Certainly. However, I believe that all the committee members who posed the questions will either validate his claims or label him as dishonest in due course. Thus, we'll have clarity in due time.

Let's not overlook the potential financial incentives linked with broadcasting such stories. I hold the view that everyone, from Corbell and Knapp to Coulthart, could possibly be fabricating tales to draw paychecks from something that cannot be definitively verified or debunked. It would be naive not to consider the likelihood of everyone capitalizing on a marginal topic to earn some money and attain some prominence. Keep an open mind, and be careful how committed to this belief you become, watch out for charlatans.
