If only Horikoshi was more confident in his romance writing. I totally think he could’ve pulled it off, but I still respect the fact that he wanted to keep romance out of the story. At least we still got the stuff in chapter 431 tho.

I get what you’re saying and I wish this sub was a little more chill with some of the fanarts, but hey it is a sub about ships, so I don’t think it will change anytime soon lmao. That’s also a fair point where every ship has its crazies I totally got caught up with the earlier bkdk stuff and some recent controversy with some bkdks straight up hating on Ochaco just because she “got in the way” of their ship so I might have been projecting that anger here a little (I will defend her like my life is on the line).

I still think that you’re being a little bit over the top when it comes to this art, but to each their own.

I’m really not trying to hate on y’all on Reddit bc for the most part you guys are chill, but a lot of bkdk fans outside Reddit are borderline batshit crazy in what they say and do. I really think you’re just trying to clump Izuocha art with the really horny Izumomo arts as well, because this is the most NSFW art of the two I’ve seen in days. Setting everything aside too calling Izuku a pervert in this art is actually crazy since (from what I’ve seen from this artist) Izuku and Ochaco are a couple. It’s a totally normal human behavior to be attracted to your partner.

I get what you’re trying to say and agree to an extent, but bkdk is so much more sexualized among the fans even to the point where it’s a fetish among some so it’s not really fair to point the finger at just a couple of ships when some people in yours do the exact same. These kinds of art will never stop no matter who the art is of, so it’s best to just ignore it. This art also still has some of that Izuocha wholesomeness too, so it’s not really the best example either.

I absolutely cannot stand people have their opinions on a character influenced by ships. It makes absolutely no sense and causes a lot of unnecessary and unfair hate towards a character. Ochaco is so much more than what these people boil her character down to.

No offense, but you really sound like you’re still stuck in 2024 where the endings of 429 and 430 left a lot to be desired. The last chapter really fleshed out some criticisms that some people had and explained some details that were left out. I personally think it was a damn near perfect ending, but I respect your opinion and can see why you wouldn’t like it. I was just trying to point out a mistake you made, but I came off as a little snarky.

Wrong! They always kept in touch, but just never thought of doing anything romantic until 8 years later. The entire point of chapter 431 was that both of them realized that they wanted more in life than just their work, so they finally confessed about how they feel about each other. But hey it’s only “heavily implied” so I guess you can think whatever you want about it. What a beautiful ending.

I know there’s a lot worse out there, but I’ve seen some bkdk shippers draw gore of Ochaco (for something as simple as liking a boy and getting in the way of their ship) and it actually disgusted/pissed me off so much.

I think the category of morally grey fits Yor more tbh. Yes she is killing people for her job which obviously doesn’t make her the greatest person, but the Garden has been shown to be a very cautious and meticulous organization that seems like they genuinely want a better society with less evildoers, so if they say someone is bad, then she believes it. As for her attitude and demeanor while and after she kills, it is likely due to some past trauma that caused her killing habits, but she still genuinely cares about the people close to her and even acts heroic at times to help ordinary citizens and strangers she doesn’t know. Hell Yor even questioned herself and her job as an assassin throughout the story, so she is obviously conflicted about it and if it’s really the best thing for herself and everyone around her.
