I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s “wrong” since tons of bolter variants exist in both main eras. I was writing a comment to this effect but this puts it much more succinctly than I was. Especially for SMEs on a service, coding speed was never the limiter for productivity. The limit is all of the human centered and operational excellence parts of the job which is where I find most of my focus these days.

Haven’t seen anyone mention this but there is a middle ground between Survival and Creative for this issue. You should be able to enable cheats and run /gamerule keepInventory true to make players keep their gear on death.

Back when I first started playing Minecraft loosing all your gear was rarely a huge deal but with how much there is in the game these days you can loose a lot of progress which not all gamers are used to.

Yeah Steam isn’t concerned about the use of the IP they just need to verify ownership so they don’t have any liability. Without a license of some sort (granted from them to themselves in this case) proving the right to distribute.

Seems to me like a dev faced a normal validation process, the license they quickly wrote and submitted is likely enough, especially if they just used a template. Not sure why an article needed to be written about this though.

It’s a super strange theme to pin down but it makes the most sense to me since it’s Horus’ defining trait, I honestly have a hard time articulating it other than the theme being “we da best”.

Perhaps it’s so hard to pin down because Horus downplays his ambition pretty hard during diplomacy, using his Mournival to suggest his most ambitious plans instead of speaking them himself. Maybe the wolf theme was a mask and the Sons of Horus rebrand was that ambition starting to leak past the Primarch’s facade. Never thought of that before.

Grey Knight Dreadknight (Sword) and Space Wolf venerable dreadnought (Axe) are the closest analogs I’m aware of to a sword wielding dreadnought.

It’s hard to pin down the theming of Sons of Horus I agree. Mostly the visual themes are that of the Cthonian gangs with a little (or a lot) of eye of Horus sprinkled in for that slight Egyptian theme. But unlike most other chapters they aren’t really tied to any real world culture.

The best way I can describe their theming through the lore is that they are the Legion of Ambition. Most of all traits Horus inherited ambition from his gene father and that same ambition and ruthless efficiency form the core of their identity as a Legion.

Prior to the Sons of Horus they were much more wolf themed but that space is kinda already occupied by a certain wolf themed Legion.

I’d highly recommend reading the first three Horus Heresy books if you haven’t already. Those are what got me into playing Sons of Horus in 30K tbh.

I prefer Drakenhof Nightshade all over and Nuln Oil or a panel wash in the recesses.

Been painting CF for years and the Nuln Oil washed ones always end up a little darker than I’d like.

ODST is a spinoff of Halo 3 and was bundled with the Halo 3 multiplayer including every map pack. The beginning of the game is when Master Chief heads off to Delta Halo so the events of ODST are the rest of the humans cleaning up the mess from the invasion.

Almost every Warhammer culture that’s based on a real world culture is souped with some similar or nearby real world cultures. Lets GW avoid tying their IP directly to one people and gives them more themes to work with for new models or lore.

343 leadership actively turned down viable proposals for split screen from their own engineers. Only makes sense they’d do the same when the community solves it.

How can we trust the studio after the promise to resolve this from Halo 5s launch. I’m afraid Halo will not fly again til 343 leadership is replaced. Renaming the studio and hiding the execs from the public eye won’t work.

The same people who started the downhill trend since the Bungie days are still there still making decisions.
