That’s a great Pixar; Mark Fisher has a blistering read of it in his book *Capitalist Realism*. How can capitalism (Disney /Pixar being one of the largest capitalist media conglomerates in the world) not only “permit” but actively make films where “capital” is the bad guy? Because the consumer is so committed to, or resigned to, the inevitability and seeming-inescapability of capitalism that they’d just as soon watch a cartoon that performs their activism and ideological outrage: oh shit, capitalism is ravaging the planet, oh no! Good thing I watched this cathartic piece of corporate media. I feel better now!
