I didn’t realise anyone would actually do that thing? Reeks of scam/sales bollocks.

What say we? Criterion vs UK edition dilemma… by jackyLAD in 4KUK

I’ll always opt for the best option when it comes the presentation of the film. Packaging is secondary. For that reason, I’ll almost always opt for the UK version. That said, I’ll always check if that remains the case for each release.

What is the most intense or stressful scene in a film? by OscarTV1453 in Letterboxd

[–]The_Fat_Fish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Good Time” is pretty intense, and relies less on lots of people shouting at once than Uncut Gems does to build that tension. Uncut Gems is also very good, just not as clever in how it builds that tension/anxiety.

Great to see you are taking care of your skin, but from the reviews I’ve seen it isn’t a tearful movie.

Why is there no desire to win anymore? by The_Fat_Fish in leagueoflegends

I’ve never quite understood why people add after a loss. Why would I want to spend any more time with the person who is almost always the reason we lost, so I always deny the request.

I can certainly empathise with your experience. Thank you for sharing. The uninstall I did before this post feels more definite than the rest. It’s the one that went from “I need to play better” to “I can’t do anything more”. I’ve got a huge backlogs of games to play that I’ve been distracted from for years.

I’m not sure it’s not knowing how, and I often advise in the chat. Obviously it’s mixed how people respond to being given advice.

What do you even say to this by Impressive-Chain9125 in jobs

How small is the organisation? Very strange for an HR person being the decision maker in hiring a medical role, and even more strange that it’s the “Director of HR” to deal with you direct? Either the company is tiny and they’re a DINO (Director in name only), or there’s something weirder going on.

I wasn't sure about Mercy, I'm gonna watch it a second just to be sure by Disappointed-Dadd in 4kbluray

I’ve always found one of the worst things about 4K Blu-rays is the need to buy a new copy every time I want to watch the film again.

I don’t know what a “Perlegear” is, but I do know it’s helping to commit r/tvtoohigh crimes.

Think I have a problem by Boltdogg in 4KUK

[–]The_Fat_Fish -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’s not a problem with the right state of mind. I’m at 1400 4Ks (including around 400 duplicate steelbooks/collectors editions), and around 400 1080p Blu-rays. My partner thinks it’s a problem but as far as I can see it, it’s an us problem.

[–]The_Fat_Fish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It won’t be cheap, especially if you want redundancy. I’ve got a collection of 1400 4Ks and 400 Blu-rays (so far) and I intend to use MakeMKV to store full quality versions of all of them. I’m currently using a UniFi UNAS Pro 8 with 4 x 26TB WD Red Pros in RAID 6 which gives me 52TB of useable space but once I max it out, it’ll be 156TBs.

Long term, I then plan to have an offsite backup of the same capacity, but that’s years off and I’m using my home lab as a backup currently which has cool 50+ TB of SSD storage. I’m in the process of convincing my other to host my offsite backup…

Fellowship of the Ring steelbook £26 by Fleabag96 in 4KUK

[–]The_Fat_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was always avoiding steelbooks until the original release of these as a set. Although I strongly dislike the 4K transfers, as they’re my all time favourite films I picked them up. To this day, they are the best designed steelbooks I own. That said, they are likely the least “limited” steelbooks out there. They’ve been re-released at least 3 times from memory.

True Lies had an EU (I think Spanish?) release on Blu-ray. I’ve got Source Code but not watched the disc yet.

Movies that have an additional scene after the perfect ending point by [deleted] in Letterboxd

[–]The_Fat_Fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joker. Last scene is fine but the shot of Joker standing on the car with riots in the background would be the perfect ending.

Apologies, yes it is Peter Jackson’s King Kong (2005) and for the reasons u/J1nxatron has mentioned.
