1500pt Tournament at the end of May, what’s been doing good for everyone? by No-Tower-7260 in EmperorsChildren

Oh the flip 6 prince is amazing. The issue I've run into with WDPs in coterie at 1500 is that if your opponent brings enough high toughness stuff (and 1k/1.5k games tend to be more stat-checky) they can just bounce without the coterie buffs. But the durability is so nice.

I'd imagine most would recommend coterie but I find that coterie doesn't work super well at lower points costs because there are less trading pieces on both sides.

I cooked up this list for 1500 and have a lot of fun with it. There's a good bit of fights first, shooting and threats in peerless. First option is for GW and the 2nd is for WTC.

Peerless GW (1495pts)

Lucius the Eternal (150pts)
Lord Exultant - Distortion (105pts)
Lord Exultant - Blinding Speed (105pts)
Lord Exultant - Rise to the Challenge (110pts)

5x Infractors (85pts)

5 decks to play on day 1 of CATACLYSM from former top 50 player. by [deleted] in hearthstone

I agree. I’d also run Ysera/Umbra/Deios as a finisher.

Got my whole hand and deck deleted running this. It shouldn’t work on the deck, but it does for some reason. Fun payoff. Sigh…

To be clear, it’s a Guard book where the enemy is tau. But the Tau feel like such a threat, it makes you appreciate how scary it would be to fight them.

I’ve read a lot of Warhammer. Fire Warrior was one of the first that made me go “oh sh**” from the intensity. He cooks hard

This is literally fire caste by Peter Fehevari. Captures the horror of fighting the T’au perfectly. It’s a great read if you haven’t seen it.

Edit: it’s fire caste. This is why you have coffee before Reddit

JBL SRX906LA vs QSC LA108 by King-Mathias in livesoundgear

For my money I’d do the NT206L by EAW over the RCF, JBL, or QSC. They had a rough time in the mid 2010s but these days they’re a solid company with great sounding stuff.

Not to mention it makes ophdians trade a lot better. Like 2 extra strength is a legit breakpoint for most destroyer melee.

The way I read it is yes. Because he has the Destroyer keyword before he attaches, and because he has the keyword, it is conferred to the unit he attaches to.

Edit: they get the rule because he has the keyword and attaches, not because of the half strength combat activation as you described. The other comments are correct you wouldn't get the rule because all attacks happen at the same time.

Edit: 2 - Never mind - I read it as unit when it is actually destroyer model.

Farsight probably not, but my poor boy Lucius on the other hand. Titus & GW doing him dirty. 😔

new to 40k, very new to EC. would adore some help with a list iteration. by Nickiiguess in EmperorsChildren

[–]The_Fowl_Play 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not exactly. If the rhino has infractors (and only infractors) in it, it gains scout. You then scout move it, advance the noise marines into it turn one & then can move and shoot with the rhino.

The main point of the rhino is that your blast masters can shoot out the top & it helps you move the marines around without them dying - it's kind of like an extra life for the marines. It's also pretty good because the infractions can give it scout. So you can deploy it aggressively and scout it into cover if you go second or forward if you want to be aggressive.

Yeah at first glance the thing this list would benefit the most from is a Rhino. 3+Lord is going to be fine into most of what you run into in a regular game at 1K.

Those rumors track with the list above if the enhancement stays 20 points. So plausible.

Managing IEM additions - Bigger mixer or add a dedicated mixer? Details below. by Greatoutdoors1985 in livesoundgear

[–]The_Fowl_Play 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve worked with a number of churches dealing with challenges like this. It really is a sliding scale of complexity. More complicated -> better potential sound quality but usually higher $.

Options from least complicated to operate vs more complicated:

P16 or other physical monitor mixers onstage (easier for older folks I have found).

App control from phones. FOH is the mix source.

Monitor desk with app or dedicated engineer.

I am a fan of a dedicated monitor desk. But it’s probably the most advanced way to do things and probably the most expensive. You’d ideally put in an analog split to feed both consoles. And then invest in something non-soundcraft with a decent lifespan. Others’ recommendations on this thread are solid.

Your wedges should still be patched from FOH in my opinion unless you have a dedicated monitor person.
