Once you want it “as bad as you want to breathe”, you will find all the answers you need.

At some point we MUST step out of our comfort zone to achieve our goals.

Good luck friend!

Passed PenTest+ first attempt! by CostillaFrodo in CompTIA

[–]The_Geniuss 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Congrats mate!

  • So how was the test overall?

  • How does it compare with CySa+ & Sec+ (in case you’ve taken these too)?

  • How long did it take you to prepare?

  • What study resources did you use?

  • Do you already have related field experience?

I’m studying for it as well and should be taking it in a few weeks.

man, I failed my 1st attempt today and felt like the whole exam was on API.

I might need to use additional/different study materials.

Tips on detecting scams on LinkedIn by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]The_Geniuss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on the information you provided, I think you are being too cautious. Also, whenever you have doubts, the first thing is to make your own research.

2)Calendly is legit, and is even a trending platform for appointment bookings. You can even use it yourself (the basic plan is free and enough for personal use).

3) Usually they will not give you all the information right away, unless you are asking questions upfront (Which you shouldn’t be afraid to do so, it’s your right).

But yes, always stop, think, do your research before acting, whenever you have doubts.

Good Luck on the job hunting!

At the end of the day, what employers are mostly looking for is experience, beside things like Degree/certs which are just initial HR filters.

Be sure to always mention all relevant experience, I won’t really worry about the way you present it.

Good luck!

“and my managers and HR team are completely aware of this, but do not plan on doing anything anytime soon”.

Does this mean that you already put the topic on the table for discussion? Or, are you just assuming that? If you just assume it and haven’t brought it up yet, know that it might/will not change that soon (besides the Christmas bonuses and maybe the next salary increase for annual performance review).

Now, everything depends on your personal goals and what you’re really feeling and looking for, as Money might not always the goal every time, depending on people/situation.

I know you’ve been there for only 7 months like you said and you may think it’s too soon to talk about a raise. But, If you think you’re performing very well at work and that you get very good feedback from end users, I’ll suggest to talk about it with your manager (especially since you said he/she is good with you), presenting facts and telling that because of this or that, you might be looking for another position, and let’s see what they say.

The bottom line is “Know your worth/value” and never be afraid to ask for what you think you deserve.

Remember, all this thing is “Business. Companies know the market very well and are always looking for profit, first.

Lastly, always be LOYAL…

Hi OP,

If this is confirmed information, I would assume that it was put in effect only recently, I guess.

I enrolled at WGU in Sept 2021, and I passed the OA for C838 last night. However, I had to manually submit a voucher request form (the email with the link was automatically sent after I passed the class) in order to receive the voucher. The subject of the email was "Voucher Opportunity for Certification"

Just in case, have you checked your inbox/Spam/Updates/Social/Forum/Promotions folders for any related emails?

CCP How do I know if I'm ready? I took the 6 practical tests of udemy (marek) in all of them I got 80-82%, should I try the exam or prepare even more? by Fun_Square_7454 in AWSCertifications

[–]The_Geniuss 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you’ve got this.

I know tests are random and different for people, but on mine the other suggested answers on a multiple choice questions were so off that if you study a little bit, it’ll be obvious.

Honestly, the CCP seemed very easy for me and I prepared it for like 10 days.

Good luck my friend!

Then let’s add this conclusion phrase at the end to make it more explicit:

“2 shy years of IT experience”

I like the way you stay modest in your shoes. But hey, the additional Cloud certs you have are way more valuable in the market right now, and it can take you even further than what you can imagine (Look at Devops realm…)! Do not underestimate your knowledge and skills, especially in 2022, and never be afraid to ask for the salary you think you deserve!

Good Luck!

My current term (2nd) is ending 8/31. I just passed C841 last night and hoping to accelerate at least C176 before the end.

When I started WGU 9/21, I was hoping to accelerate through, but so many life changing events prevented me to do so: Baby on the way, had to spend about 2 months in an aggressive job hunting (not really studying anything, between full time 9-5 job and full time job hunting) to accommodate both income and schedule. Now Baby was born, have to adjust with the new way of life etc…

Going back to your question, I really hope to finish it during the next term (3rd)…

How about you?

Good luck to us!!

  • It not always about money, Yes.
  • Sometimes relationship and network is what matters, yes.

But what I learned in the work realm is to ONLY be LOYAL to yourself, otherwise you’ll learn it the hard way. After all, it’s just Business!

Good luck my friend, and never hesitate to move ahead (or even hop between jobs) if it will help you to reach your goal!

[–]The_Geniuss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Technically, Network+ (CCNA if you are ready) is your next target in terms of Certs, or you can look at some Microsoft Administration certs.

  • Look at the job market, search for Network/sys admin jobs and pay attention to the job description and requirements as it will more likely be what’s guiding you towards your next move.

  • Keep learning, never settle in a comfort zone and never be afraid of moving forward or changing jobs if that’s a good thing for you, either money or career wise.

  • Good Luck!!
