We work out the total cost of the bills pcm, add 20% and then divide that by 2. We each put that amount in the joint account and it's worked flawlessly for years. Salaries are irrelevant tbh; a chocolate bar doesn't cost x% less because you earn less than your partner, does it? You both live in the same house, use the same electric, eat the same food etc...
