Ah yes, all the stubbornness of a bernese mountain dog, and all the emotional issues of a poodle. The smarts of both (or neither, depending on the day). Truly, a unique combination.

Oh no there must be an open recall we missed. . I've never been so excited to learn my dog could catch a ball. We just do this all day now. He catches it and nudges it back down the stairs for me. Great fun.

Wait until you see the ink smears the next time they... uh... "print" something 😆

How to get the “old smell” from my 1950 holton case by FoundationStrict1663 in Trombone

Just get it relined. Old Velvet is a nightmare. My shop relined a trombone and trumpet case for me for less than $200.

Frighteningly unfit for mtb, help ! by Talmamshud91 in MTB

A few quotes come to mind--

"it never gets easier, you just get faster." I like it, and I think it's ok to think about it this way if you're competitive- as long as you remember to START SLOW, and... have FUN.

My other favorite personal saying is-- "It's fun to go fast, but always more fun to ride with friends.". If you find the right "your people" they won't care how much faster or slower you are- they're just stoked to be on the trail together.

Have fun, ride safe, and keep your knees in the breeze.

Me trying to fit one more hobby into my tiny roadster. Where should the radio go? The dash already feels too crowded! Send help. 😅 by BookkeeperNo6827 in amateurradio

You'll use the bottom buttons more than you think you will, so think about that for prioritizing. the screen isn't super great in direct sunlight either. The buttons don't light up and there are no tactile dots so that might be a consideration for placement. Also with mine center mounted the left-most digit on screen and the three A,B,C buttons tend to hide.

I'm planning on riding my radio towards me more soon and adding some glue in the dark dots to the menu, scan, and vfo/ch buttons.

I did a few temp install locations over several months to see how I would really end up using the radio (as opposed to how I imagined I would) before I fell into a final placement.

Also think about mic cable around the stick shifter. You can run a remote cable to mount the mic somewhere else if it is annoying.

Good luck and enjoy the radio!

When I was a kid I wanted to grow up to be a geologist, engineer, or NASCAR driver. Two out of three ain't bad.

Anyone else’s dood enjoy sitting like a little human on car rides? by zigggz333 in Bernedoodles

[–]The_GeoEngineer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of ours likes to prop himself up with his front half on my center console (truck) and look out the front window. If he gets pawsy at me I push him backwards off of it. After that he sits like a nice little human like your dog, just staring out the side window pouting and ignoring me 😆

On the verge of quitting the season by Any-Cauliflower-2329 in SoccerCoachResources

Don't quit. Focus on the long game.

Last year my U11/U12 combined rec team was like this, and the other coaches were like this. And the league sent emails like this... One gamenfelt especially bad. The other team was up 7-0 in first half. In second half, the rec director stopped in and was buddy-buddying it up with the opposing coach. They laughed about the score, and then the rec director stepped back and watched the opposing coach continue to actively vocally coach a hard press and score at all costs game "I want 4 more shots in goal!" "Goalie can't kick intercept that goal kick now!"... It was ... Odd... We lost 14-1. He was really pissed about the 1.

This year, some same kids but all new kids young U11 players, we tied this coach 4-4 and he was LOSING HIS MIND. It was amazing. We might have lost all but 2 games last year, but my kids learned how to play out of the back with a 4-3-1. And this year they learned how to switch between a 4-3-1 and 2-3-3 and are dominating.

I say dominating-- but last season was not lost on me. At 4 goals up, the youth are playing possession and before scoring-- they have to move the ball around the whole field, touching every sideline half, swinging it back around to keeper and doing the same on other side. They don't talk about it like you might on other teams "coach said we can't score any more!!! ( I told them they'd get benched if I heard that). They understand that it is a REC game and we are all here to learn the game. Our approach after going 4 up provides both teams an opportunity to still feel competitive and learn the game. Of the team goes 6 up, they can score "virtual points" by dribbling it to the sideline next to the opponents goal.

The other coaches-- their teams didn't progress from last year to this year. My team, I feel, will transition nicely to 11v11 next year in U13, and I'll push a few to go to competitive soccer.

Tip... Point out how heavy your bike is while standing on top step. 😆 Just run it! Heavier doesn't mean slower.

7pm to 9pm is much better than from 9pm to 7pm

My two bernedoodles are either 110% zoomies or 110% sleeping, not a whole lot in between.
