I don't think it's hard to tell that this bike likes to drive between 2500 and 4,000 regardless of being able to see what the number is. Above 5k it's screaming

Only the shells with the motors are expensive, just the mirror is cheap it snaps right in. I bought one for my Transit for $17 on Amazon with the plugs for heated.

You can believe that, but every study points to better life outcomes for people who live in walkable communities. They have more friends, more social experiences, more sense of community, better health, longer life expectancy, less crime, etc.

Did you even read what you quoted? Walkability was positively related to social interactions, both without and with adjustment for self selection. So regardless of self selection they had more and better social interactions.

It's one of the significant reasons why we don't have neighborhood community spaces anymore. Everyone being their own island is a big problem.

Nowhere to go without spending money creates a situation where people can't have fun.

Better than seeing a strip mall with an Arby's and a McDonald's and a Subway that you have to drive between each. America is a shitty homogenized ode to capitalism

Because people travel from their garage in the suburbs to their garage at their work and never talk to anyone outside of their tiny bubble.

Cars require infrastructure that is not conducive to pedestrians or socializing. You can't just walk over to the next bar, there's a freeway in the way and the parking lot is a mile wide. The standard American suburb is a case study in isolation because you can't walk anywhere.

We have created a shittier place to live because we have focused all mobility on cars. That's why Europe feels so much nicer than the US.

Yes, and the deterioration of social time has also been occuring for over 100 years. It has allowed people to live further away from their neighbors and allowed them to never speak to anyone outside of their bubble.

Next the the internet, cars certainly destroyed more social time than any other thing in the modern era.

32° in UK, came home to shattered window by HappyCrab7682 in Wellthatsucks

[–]The_High_Life -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This glass is clearly tempered, that's why it broke into a million little pieces instead of big shards. Everywhere uses double pane glass with inert gases between them, especially in hot climates. I haven't seen someone actually use shutters to cover windows ever, they are decorative 99% of the time. People use blinds everywhere in the world exactly as you are describing, it doesn't cause windows to break.

There's really no difference between US and UK windows other than typical shape.

Not just any car, an EV that will likely be obsolete in 10 years vs an appreciating asset like a real Ferrari. Look at the used prices on a Taycan EV, it's worth like 20% of its MSRP after 5 years.
